Speed/Safety Cams - Canada ???

Tue Oct 23, 2012 12:01 pm

Just returned from British Columbia/Alberta covering some 2500km using my TTone with Map 885-4087 Canada/Alaska and the latest Speed/Safety cam updates I could find.
Only once did the Map fail, while in Banff I was told to turn right, yet the map said left.
As for the speed camera's not once did any alarms sound as none was seen, correction some schools having warning displays indicating your speed but warned they have a camera within the matrix. The only alarm that sounded which was for the Stoplight (or Redlight as they call them) camera's, but this is grossly outdated.

So anyone travelling to BC or Alberta, watch the for the Stoplight (Redlight) camera (which you are warned being present with signs) at Junctions and Police who hide behind lamp posts and do random speed checks mostly in town or city.

Did you make sure that you checked the speedcam option in settings so as to activate it?

Yeah, all the options were turned on and also some of the Redlight options were in POI folder.

With the Redlight, some did warn but majority did not. I started to mark them as I saw them, but gave up in the end.

OK. It was only a thought on my part.

The current US & Canada speedcam/red light cam files are always available in the TomTom Official Speedcams thread or as a free download in TT Home. Latest is version 23335
