I am new of this forum and I need help for installing/uploading a new map. Probably I am not following the right procedure.
I have

DeviceName=TomTom XL
DeviceVersionHW=XL
BootLoaderVersion=10012
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9151
ApplicationVersion=605385.2
CurrentMap=Central_Europe
CurrentMapVersion=850.2781

I want to upload the Greece map. I downloaded those files: Greece_870_3405 and ENG_FastActivate_28.03.2011_Premium_edition_v1.8.6.6.

I follow the Method 1, as indicated:

1. Plug your tomtom device with the USB to your PC or card reader
2. Copy "Fast/AutoActivate.exe" to your TomTom device root directory for all product activation (The keygen also works inside a map or voice directory also if needed)
3. Run "Fast/AutoActivate.exe"
4. Done...

Now I placed the Greece_870_3405 file in the tomtom device root. I reboot the tomtom but the map of Greece is not listed in the menu (it would have be so easy )....what I am doing wrong?

do I need to put the Greece_870_3405 file in a specific folder inside tomtom?

for unzipping the file I used winrar..

1. What is your navcore version, as if you check the compatibility table the 3405 builds only support navcore 9.0x and above.

2. Do you have the meta key for the Greece 870.3405 map, as its needed and I didnt think it had been released on the forums yet and so probably isnt downloaded when you run autoactivate (have a look in your greece map folder and see if there is a dct file which has been created)

3. Have you patched your navcore, so that it can work with non-purchased maps?

I don’t know which navcore version I have, how can I check it?

You right, I do not have the metakey. Probably I need to download other map version (I was not aware of compatibility between maps/navcore)

I have run the FastActivate, I am not sure if this is enough to patche the navcore.



If I understood, this is the procedure:

1. Check navcore version (how?)

2. Patch the navcore (with FastActivate?, if not, how?)


3. Upload the compatible map with meta key (I found in the forum the greece map version 860.3102 with meta key, will this work? And where I have to put map file and meta key? Simple in tomtom root folder?)

As far as I can see,youve stated your navcore in the 1st post=9.151.The file "ttgo.bif" can be opened with notepad to tell you stuff,and I presume its in
status/info on your device.

You need to brush up on your English.....you use "upload" when you should use "install" or "download"

I'll leave tendriver to help you out as he's forgotten more than I know

can anyone help me:

1. I run "Fast/AutoActivate.exe" as per indication;
2. then I downloaded and run Greece_865_3244 with Automatic Installer & Patcher.

( I checked the map 865_3244 is compatible with my navcore 9151)

I assume the navcore is patched and the map is installed, but I don't see the greece map in the tomtom menu....

I have also the meta key... where I need to put it?

Remove your old 850.2781 map folder from your XL. Copy your new 870.3405 map folder into your XL. Read the FastActivate ENG 28.03.2011 {1.8.6.6} instructions carefully. Start FastActivate.exe & click all 4 buttons 1 at a time, from left to right. Disconnect & reboot.
