No support for some special characters in street names - Carminat TomTom

Postby reptileq » Mon Jan 12, 2015 3:10 pm

Hi; I recently updated maps and Carminat TomTom SW on my 2010 Renault Laguna 3 Nav SD card - Central & Eastern Europe maps. After this update I noticed some of the Romanian special characters are not shown correctly in street names (I guess bad character set support) - something like "?oseaua Olteni?ei". Is there a way to fix this? Can I change the character set support or something? I did not figure out anything from the navigation menu and settings.

Thanks!

I am not aware of any special TTF fonts other than for asian support.
This means it is most likely a bug in the map as all related texts is stored inside the map files.
Maybe TT forgot to convert special characters accordingly...
