Hi, i am copying 1GB europe map to internal memory of a tomtom xl 1GB. It says that will take 12 Hours to complete and seems that is stopped...
This means that internal memory has a problem? I format the internal memory and try to copy the backup but it says the same 12H to complete... Any idea? Thanks

It just means that you have done an update with an uspported Navcore.
Since we remove the bootloaders from our releases you either got it elsewhere or by manually patching a genuine Navcore that was not meant for your TT.
Check my postings for the "rescue bootloader" and install it, after that the transfer speeds are back to normal.

Just replace the original file with yours and now tthome recognize tomtom and computer aslo but gps dont give image, its dark...
After restart gps after replace the file the screen became crazy and then become dark...
I can access gps trought tthome... It still say bootloader 1.0012
I am copying a map and i think it fix the speed... At least its a lot faster with some pauses... But there no image on gps...

Just put the original "system" file and the image come back... This mean that the gps dont support the bootloadr 5? Is there any bootloader i can try? Thanks

In that case you are stuck with the slow transfer rates

I found this table, my navcore is 8.080 and tomtom xl. On this table say that the bootloader 5.5117 will work on my gps no? Thanks

TT Home "Operate my device" is just a simulation/emulation & will always show bootloader 1.0012, regardless of what the actual bootloader is. You might try 5.5022 or 5.5128. Both are known for their speed.

Ok, but all the information i see it says that with bootloader 1.xxxx shouldnt update the bootloader with risk to brick the gps...

Since the copy rate is very slow, the gps working will become also very slow? My question is if bootloader version affect gps operation speed or only copying files. Thanks

If you have a Tomtom with the bootloader version number starting with 1.xxx instead of 5.xxx you have a special system and should never attempt to change your bootloader! (exception: bootloader 1.0012 is OK for updating.)

Question, Downunder35m pointed me to get his rescue bootloader. It is just a system file in a rar. What exactly do I do with the file?
