Do I follow this now

1. Extract the new navcore to the device overwriting all the files it asks about...when finished disconnect and start up the XXL and all should be ok
2. Extract the new UK & ROI map to the XXL
3. Extract FastActivate archive to the root of the XXL > find FastActivate.exe and run it > select option 1 & wait a moment for it to update > select option 2 to activate the new map - you should see a message that says ***.DCT = Ok > now select option 3 to patch the new navcore to accept downloaded maps - wait for patch successful message > disconnect & test

What is the result?

Yes, follow the instructions and you should be set

Ok, if you want to have other maps, you can but it must be small enough to fit on your XXL and it must have a meta code (serial number) otherwise you're wasting your time..so here's some bedtime reading for you:

The latest 1045 map meta codes we have available so far: topic21631.html

Poteo_Roke's excellent document that explains the maps and their coverage: topic20675.html

Further to that, you're going to want the latest postcodes and speedcam files...all of the instructions are provided:

SpeedCams: topic6933.html

Post codes: topic21636.html

and with that I have to go as I'm going to see Morrissey at Wembley tomorrow...and probably catch Coronavirus too lol

Many thanks for your help just having a bit of a problem understand this bit

You're welcome... there's no need to thank me, you can click on the thumbs up button on my posts if you want to do that. You might consider donating to the site to help with the running costs too, it's a bargain compared to the costs of buying these maps from TomTom.

4 or 5 posts above I linked you to Poteo_Roke's document...download it and have a read, it explains each map and the countries within it. Find a map with Spain and pay attention to the information at the top which tells you the size of the map and each map number. All you need to do is download your chosen map, extract it to your XXL and activate it as before (only option 2 needed).

You can delete your old map now to create a bit of free space.

Remove your old map as it's still showing as the current map version...apart from that it looks good
