Hi
I have a go 530 and the battery has I think died,Its just over a year old.I read somewhere on this site that when you switch tomtom off it can go into stand by mode ?
How can i check if the unit is going into this mode.
I can leave in on charge for several hours but the battery will only last 10 mins after charge.

I had this same issue with a GO X20. Replacing the battery took care of it.
To ensure that it is shuting off, Go: Main Menu, Battery saving preferences. Uncheck "Device stays on when external power is lost".

Thanks Tendriver I have checked that and all ok.
Have now ordered a new battery.

Do you have replacement instructions?

Yes thanks I have a P.D.F downloaded and also a u tube video.
So i reckon even i will be able to change the battery.

OK. The hardest part is separating (unsticking) the old battery from the unit.

Battery has worked its way through the the Spanish postal system.
All fitted and working.
The easiest thing that I have ever done to a Tom Tom.
