Tom tom 630 problem

Hi I have a tom tom 630 I recently updated navcore to 9.702 & updated truck maps to Europe truck 960_782. All seemed fine but now it sometimes suddenly shows nothing on the screen just a red background with lines running from top to bottom and I have to restart the unit after which it works fine again.
Anyone have an idea what could be wrong?

HI i would try a different, navcore. just to confirm or eliminate. the device or the navcore.

Previously I had 9.701 was advised I needed 9.702 for the latest truck maps do you know if they work with 9.701

Europe truck 960.7082 is compatible with navcores 9.702 & 9.701. This is clearly stated in the yellow info box at the bottom of the 960 Compatibility Charts.
You didn't mention that you had 9.701 in your " Some help needed please" thread.

sorry i didnt mention it but didnt even know what a navcore was till a few days ago when i started to investigate how to update the maps, do you think its a hardware problem? i've not had any problems with it before

I have not seen this problem. Put 9.701 back in & let's see what it does.

So I put 9.701 back on with the latest maps and seems to be ok so far

Well my sat nav is still playing up. Have decided to get another one after speaking with someone who deals with them and they said they had a similar problem with the same symptoms they tried all sorts of software fixes and decided it was probably a main board problem.just seems odd I had no problems till I updated the maps but I guess nothing lasts forever! At learn I learnt a lot about them from the help on this forum thank you all for your input will be back next time I need a map update
