Hi guys,
I`m after an easily downloadable map for Tom Tom Go 710.
Its running Navcore 7.903 and I believe the map I need is version 905.4756 or 4757/4807/4829 for the UK and Ireland or Europe, in fact any of the variations as long as it has the UK on it :-)
I have searched and all of the links are either deleted, inactive or only accessible by downloading several other websites and dubious applications.
Any help greatly appreciated :-)

All our maps are hosted on free sites - it is not our fault that you don't know how to use them.
If you need a 905 map than you did not even check our red sticky threads right in this section.

I have been using this forum for various downloads and with the help of Chas and Nabi managed to completely reconfigure my Binatone to run Igo running the freedownloads from this site.
Also I have searched all the threads and the RED Stickys for the information I need and had come up blank as to the relevant map being available for this Tom Tom hence I posted the request.
While searching these threads I have also noticed your replies to requests Downunder and also noticed that you can be rude and arrogant when answering innocent requests from people less informed than yourself!
My request was not aimed specifically at YOU! My request was a general call out for anyone who had RECENTLY needed or downloaded such a map.
Luckily the TOM TOM runs fine on the older map so I don`t need an arrogant arse to tell me what I already know and have learnt from being a satified user of this site.
If this is the kind of help people can expect from Navitotal if they have a Tom Tom then my advice (given freely) is get a bloody Garmin or Binatone!
Thanks but no thanks for your help.

You have several maps for your region available in the map thread, and not just from one source - that's why I pointed to the map threads.
Since not all maps for your NC have meta codes yet, it is up to you to find a suitable map or region.
And asking for a 905 map with the 915 maps being current makes no sense at all.
As there is more than just one uploader I don't understand your problem finding a working link - and if you need downloaders or dubios sites to get to file you might want to try clicking on the links instead of the ads.
If not sure simply use Jdownloader and copy the link from the forum into the clipboard.
So what was rude about my first reply?
And as always: If there is no meta code for the map of your choice fee free to buy the map and to share the meta code with us - that's how all the other codes make it into the forums.
With noone buying and sharing a map it will be impossible to get it working ;)

Downunder,
I have spent quite a few hours last night and again this morning searching through the relevant posts and threads for any version of any of these:
905.4756
905.4757
905.4807
905.4829
900.4600
895.4436
895.4472
And all lead me to Usenet.nl which wants my credit card details before I can use the free 14 day trial.
Now I don`t know about you but i`m not going to put my card details on any non-httpS website, so my request (and maybe I should have phrased it better) would have been for any map of any version of the above that is downloadable from a site that is free, simple to use and dosn`t want personal information about you.
Now i know the pitfalls of trying to find such a site as i jumped through the hoops for 4 days to get the relevant downloads for the Igo core and maps on the Binatone, that was a mission but at least the sites were useable (with careful navigation and watching the download "traps").
I have had no luck with any of the links for any of the Tom Tom maps so I shall tell my friend (it`s his device, I have the Binatone) it`s a bust as I don`t think ( I admit I don`t know) that any maps available on Tom Tom Home 2 would be compatible with the 7.903 navcore on this device and it`s not worth the £39.99 gamble to find out.
Thank you for replying anyway and I hope no offence taken.

You can still buy maps for the 710 with navcore 7903 via TomTom Home. So it is not a gamble at all.
I even have a subscription for a year for my old TomTom One with navcore 7903.
I also noticed that it is impossible to use slow downloads with Filefactory.

As I admit I wasn`t sure and didn`t know so thanks for that info Holyhead
If I can`t find a work around that`s what he`ll have to do.

And as I said earlier: All our files are on free hosting sites!
If you end up on Usenet than you clicked on ads, why do you think I suggested Jdownloader? ;)
Fri Nov 15, 2013 3:09 pm
Nope.... I give up here.
Another 3 hours spent looking for anything that will download from the links given and nada!
All are giving 404 errors or taking me to Usenet.nl
I don`t know where you guys click to get a download and i had no problems downloading links that Fatboy and Chas have posted on the Igo core section but all of the links I have tried in this section are a bust.
I even clicked on the link up there ^ ^ ^ about the guy asking for maps for the USA and got this : Error 404 - Folder not found!
"This folder has been removed on 28.10.2013, because it had been offline for 30 days and no new links were added."
I`ll have a look at a couple of other sat-nav forums and see if I can download anything from there.
And before anyone pipes up, I`m not new to downloading from free hosts and I am using Firefox, as i said, no problem at all with downloads for the Igo core and I must have downloaded quite a few files to get that running.

You tendriver are a bloody hero!
:chuncky:
I had no problem downloading them (ok they were slow but what more do you want! They are free and more importantly I could access the download without jumping through hoops to get to it!)
Opened the exe. and loaded the map (after backing up everything twice!)
It showed the map in place with a lovely warning sign say " This map won`t work without being activated".
Downloaded and un-rar Fast Activate (thanks Huntsman
) ran it and booted the Tom Tom.
Now running 915.5106 up from 650.1047!!! although the core is a little old at 7.903 but who cares it works
and the map is upto date.
Kudos to you guys who do all the background work and put up with grumpy b#stards like me

Some users won't listen and some won't even use Jdownloader if they can't figure out how to download a file, it is easier to continue to complain instead...
Fri Nov 15, 2013 11:30 pm
Your links did`nt work for me despite 6 hrs of trying every combination.
Tendriver`s links worked without the need to download a third party site.
It`s not a question of user error or not using the third party sites you prefer it is a question of simplicity and ease of use and in this case (maybe not all) my persistance ( I prefer that to complaining
) and perseverance paid off.
I thank you for your time anyway Downunder
