Tom tom 710 - unable to get map to work

Postby Mark300TT » Mon Jan 03, 2011 9:10 pm

Hi Everyone
This looks like a great site , with loads of info - but I have been having trouble for the last few days trying to get map and activator working.
I have replaced my old map with Western Europe 1GB 860 3126 and also installed the activator 1.8.0.1. and all appears to work fine until I replace SD card in device and then it either says no maps found OR I get the TT logo , that goes off then it starts to load , the bottom screen bar goes from L-R and the TT logo comes up and stays there , and I have to reset the device.

Sorry to be a noob pain - but I have been trying for ages and cant seem to manage it.
Any help much appreciated.

Thanks
Mark

if you change sd-card, are you copy ALL files from old card to new card ?

what is your old card? and what is your new card ?
if card is bigger than 2gb you maybe must change your bootloader

2. patch you navcore (if needed) button ttsystem/PNDnavigator
3. Patch map with button maps/voices/speedcams

I am trying to run Western Europe 1GB 860 3126 on my TT 710
The meta file says 1GB 264 META file 361kb All the other files on the map are DAT files , 1 PNA file and 1 file called Brand
I have tried several times and wiped card and started again and used ttsystem/PNDnavigator and map/voices/speedcams.
I can not see mapsetting.cfg file - where would I find it , if it is there?
I replaced my map file with the new one and tried to follow your instructions - but obviously I am getting something wrong.
Thanks for the help.

Navcore, Operating system & application are the same thing. On your card is a ttgo.bif file. Open it with notepad. Line 9 reads ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=****. Your navcore is the number where **** is.

Remove eveything from the card except the ttgo.bif file & the new map folder. Go here: TomTom Automatic Navcore Installation Read the instructions.

Select SE_Navcore.9.026.483454_32mb_Devices,rar (Widescreen ONLY) , download & install it.

Run the included keygen to patch the map. Disconnect & reboot.

Brilliant !!!
Followed your instructions as above and works great - am very impressed!
Thankyou PiEtU and tendriver - great work - I owe you both.
Worked ok without running keygen and patching the map - so do I still need to do that at some stage or leave as is?
I also need to install the voices/sound.
How do you feel about tthome - do I ever have to visit it?

Thanks again guys 5 *****
