Are you referring to TT pois or 3rd party pois? By update do you mean transferring them from an old map to a new one, or actually updating them.

the poi on the tomtom are just a bit outdated , some restaurants,shops,pubs etc are closed down. iam not to sure if they are tt or 3 rd partys

If you had not added extra POI's and you mean the ones that came with your new map than you are out of luck.
I don't know how and where Tomtom collects the data for those but when it comes to restaurants, petrol stations or supermarkets here in AU,
many of them are wrong, missing or outdated -at least in my area.
There is not much that can be done about it as TT has no report function for POI's.
Editing the file is not possible as it is encrypted.
