Tom Tom XXL which map?

Tom Tom XXL which map?

Postby swifteagle » Sat Dec 24, 2016 12:50 am

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I am a total noob at this gps stuff... I have been successful in the past in uploading the maps, however it has been a few years and I don't have a clue what maps are compitable with my XXL gps.

Could some please help me. I downloaded New Zealand 980.7901_Installer.exe, installed it but now the gps gets stuck on the Tom Tom page. I guess I am using the wrong map.

I am chasing Australia also New Zealand.

Thank you so much in advanced for the help, you guys here rock!

7901 is compatible with all navcores. If your navcore has not been patched, please do so using FastAcfivate.

@Tendriver, Thank you very much! That did the trick. Can I ask two final questions please:

For future updates, how do I know what maps can be used on my XXL IQ route?

For instance, I tried 980.7897 and that map didnt work, but 980.7901 did. What is the meaning of the last 3 digits?

Thank you once again for your help, very much appreciated.

Look at the chart Horizontal the navcores
maps-v9xx-f179/all-new-maps-980-t19322.html

Then vertical the Green Y (navcore you use)
To the left, the maps wich can be used with the navcore
To the right wich features the map have. Those features only have use if your device supports them.
i.e the One has no microphone so a map wich support it has no use
At least there must be a meta for the map. So no meta the map has no use at all.

The higher the last 3 digits, the more up to date is the map? Is that correct? Thanks

No the first 3 digits 980 is from Q4 so the next is going to be 985 (expected march)

1. By checking the map/ navcore compatibility chart at the beginning of each map thread. Maps are navcore specific, not device specific.
2, 7897 maps require navcore 9.00XX or higher. The first 3 digits are the map EDITION. The last 4 digits are the different VERSIONS of an EDITION.

The 985 EDITION will be out in Mid- FEB. not MARCH!!

2. No everybody who has a subscription know when the new maps arrive. I suppose that every member is happy that he got the latest free map. The most members come ones or twice and ask for the latest map and they got the answer from somebody on the forum. So it is alway,s better to keep a margin.
We see a lot of members who start asking weeks before the latest map is there.
