TomTom 0ne First Edition

Postby italianomale » Mon May 07, 2012 10:18 am

Hello, Please could anyone help?

I have a problem with my Tomtom one v1. I put the software and the maps onto the card. The GPS receiver found my street then the battery kept going flat so I had to purchase a charger. Now when I turn the device on it freezes on the tomtom logo. I have to press the reset button to turn it off.

Do you have any idea why it is now doing this?

Thank you.

Most likely it died during operation due to the battery - that can often cause data corruption.
Try a hard reset followed by the TT clear flash tool, if no luck the best option is to fully charge the device, delete all from it and than a clean install.

To avoid complications with Navcores not designed for the device I suggest to update through Home until Home does not offer any new application.
Add the map than patch the Navcore and activate the map using FastActivate Premium - click the first three buttons starting from the left.
Check the chart in the map thread to get a suitable map in case you need a new map.
If all works make a backup using Windows Explorer and you can try a different NC with more features.

Use the chart in the map thread to select a map version that suits your device.
Follow the instructions in the thread for the installation - same for the speed cams.

Just an update. I have successfully patched the NC. I now have the latest UK, Republic of Ireland, Europe, and Italy maps. They all activated okay. When I first put the card in it gave me a selection of the three maps available on the card but now when I turn on the device it gives my present location. Is there a way to browse the other maps on the card? Thanks.

There is in the preferences, manage maps, switch map.
For most NC's the biult in help and tour are present, check your menu for it as it might help to understand the functions you never had before.

PDI's?
If you mean POI's - they should not be activated to show on map as it really slows a device down, only activate categories you really need.
TT cams are not located in the poi's.

Sorry, yes, I meant points of interest. How would I go about disabling them? Thank you for the advice.
