TomTom 1xxx verions looks like 10 years old maps!

Postby hajagha » Thu Apr 16, 2020 11:27 am

Last year I updated my TomTom go 750 from 9xxx Europe to 1xxx version. It was strange that it doesn't even show the old addresses. House numbers and addresses which are 10 years old are unknown for it! I thought by updating to newer versions it'll be solved, but problems were still there, even when I upgraded to the newer of 1xxx versions. Then I had to go back to older versions (Latest versions of 9xxx) which worked better I could find the old addresses. So, is there anyone who experiences the same problem as me? Any solution?

As I said it's very strange. The new map doesn't include addresses which are minimum 10 years old, while it's registered om older maps. I appreciate any assist or idea

In which country are you finding this problem...I'm assuming Norway or is it a country that require new post codes like UK, Netherlands or Singapore?

Your guess about my country is totally right :-)
I always downloaded and updated Scandinavia maps and it worked just fine. The latest versions which worked properly was the last version of 9xxx or the first version of 1xxx. For about one year ago I faced the problem that I described. Then I tried newer versions of Scandinavia maps, when they released, but no success. I thought maybe something is wrong with Scandinavia maps and so yesterday I downloaded the map of North Europe, 1045-10000. But it was just the same. No difference. It looks like the map, addresses and house numbers belong to 20 years ago! So, any idea? Any clue?

It's a weird problem and not one that we are going to be able to answer I'm afraid. TomTom produce and are responsible for the content of the maps so you'll need to ask them directly:

Thanks again. I'll contact TomTom. But, what do you think about this issue? Is it the map which causes it, or can it be a crashed/missed file in GPS who causes it? Maybe a file which newer maps need it to work properly?
Unfortunately I don't have the first back up to roll it back to see if it makes any difference :022:

No, there's no other reason why this would be happening...it'll be a problem with the map itself
