Tomtom go 300

The higher numbers does not mean it is a better or mor complete Navcore - just check the Navcore 10 for the basic models.
For each TT series you get a Navcore version that is being updated by TT to certain point, so the numbers can show you anything but not if they are better than a lower number.
If you have a button in the menu to turn your TT off than it is a DSA Navcore, this button is for problematic devices or if you have to do a complete shut down foe a longer storage period.
To start after using this button you have to press the reset and then turn the device on.
The main power switch should be enough to turn it off, if in doubt a short press of the reset button will also make sure the device is completely off.

You either use a SE Navcore (switchfiles) or a DSA Navcore (with emulation selection in the menu).
In case of a SE you can deactivate all hardware features that your device does not have to safe Ram, a DSA Navcore does that automatically according to the emulation used.
I hope that makes it a bit clearer.
