TomTom XL 325-SE Maps question

TomTom XL 325-SE Maps question

Postby xnotx » Tue Nov 23, 2010 3:41 am

hi, i've got this xl 325 se version, after backing up what was on there, i updated to SE navcore 9.026
and tried to find a suitable map for this 1GB model....can i swear?
anyways i settled with 855.2931 as this was the "newest" map that would fit... but has no features
This model has IQRoutes and spoken street names...

now my first question...
the 330 model has ALG, which i really would like to have...
what is the original map that comes with the XL 330 (1GB)?
id like to use that series of map on my 325 se

question 2
what defines a map series, and can a map with extra features be stripped of features succesfully?

question 3
is 855.2938? 800-ish MB? and would that suite my needs?

i really would like to use the 8.60 version maps...
question 4

anyone know, in the 860 version maps, what version number would have only ALG and spoken street names(directions) for the 1GB model tomtom's ?

would it be a far stretch to request a USA_Canada 860 version map under 1GB for us 1gig users :D?

thanks for reading, any info/help is appreciated
ps: sweet forums, learnt alot so far

1. All maps that have IQ Routes, also have ALG. They go together.
2. TT releases 4 maps a year. The first 3 digits of a map is the edition. The last 4 digits is the map version of that edition. Couldn't be stripped enuf to help you.
3. We don't have a 860 edition yet to fit your needs. There isn't a 855.2938 US map that I am aware of.
4. No map in any edition has ALG only. Make your request to TomTom.
FWIW, ALG is a highly overated feature that is rarely seen.
FFR, minimum requirements when buying a TT unit.
1. 4.3" or larger screen.
2. 64MB or more RAM Memory.
3. 2GB or more storage memory.
4. A card slot.

not sure what features it has....shot them an email, see what they say

2. yes, i was pondering an upgrade, not sure which model would fit the bill...id really like to know more about the hardware specs, like processor speed, gps manufacturer, build quality, features, etc...

3. any units with MORE than 64meg ram?

EDIT: version is here in the pic in the 855 map thread

What version is in the 855 chart?

1. Please post the TT info on this map. I find no reference to it on any forum. The only USA & C map, that I see on TT.com, does not have IQ Routes/ALG. Good luck on getting any accurate ino from TT.
2. Tomtom model comparison chart
3. Yep. GO 1000 has 128MB RAM.
