TomTom Go 500 does not start up correctly after update

Hello,

i updated my tomtom Go 500 (registerd and lifetime free maps) but after installing it does not start up correctly.
It starts with the tomtom sound, but verry quickly the sound is like a machinegun, and than the systen hangs.
I just see TomTom and its logo on the screen, but have no access to the device over My Drive Connect.
Is there a way to reset the software or is there an other solution?

Hope to get some respond.

Do you mean Go 5000?

Try the following but failing that you should contact TomTom directly in your own country for help to resolve the issue:

Thank you for the respond.
It is an older system, a Go 500.
I tried the above method, but when the sound starts, it stops, and no white text appears.
I tried to contact TomTom in my country, but i only get the virtual assistant, an that does not help.

If your device is indeed the old GO 500 (NAV2) serial number M3... then you need to use TTHome to connect to their servers as MDC is only for newer devices

It is a Go 500, and it is connected via MDC.
All updates were correctly done, only te last one did not.
The serial numer is QX3314F027XX
XX are also 2 numbers.

Serial No beginning in QX is a NAV4 device with 8Gb internal memory & a microSD slot, not an "older GO 500" and does indeed use MDC so at least the experts can hopefully now advise you further as to how to recover a NAV4 device
