TomTom GO 500 Issues [Solved]

Postby bemily » Sun Apr 17, 2016 8:50 pm

Hello all,

I'm having issues trying to install Navcore for my TomTom GO 500.

Whenever I install it, I reset the device and boot up and it hangs at the loading bar. Am I doing something wrong?

I have tried Navcore 9.540.2 Installer and the Universal Navcore Installer 9.510 for GO models (64mb ram).

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks

Well actually, as far as I know the old GO 500 is a 32 Mb ram device so it's no wonder the 64 Mb would not work.
I would advise to install the 32 Mb 9.510 navcore.

Tried 32mb 9.510, it boots up and then shows me a picture of an SD card with a red cross over it?

Running the .exe from the root of TomTom and then pointing it to the right drive letter but it's giving me:

What is your bootloader

Checking bootloader (the only reliable method)

Enter a device reset 15 sec.

Then turn on the device and hold the start button until you
get info screen. Which bootloader is there

Ah - do you know where I can get the bootloader? I've done a forum search and can't see anything obvious.

Getting closer to it working :-D Again, thanks for your help..

So bootloader done, navcore done. I'm getting the message "problem with map - you cannot use this map on this device: US_South_Atlantic-100654". I checked the chart on the maps thread and it says my TT is compatible? Just trying to get a map that shows Florida for my trip in a few weeks!

I suppose you use navcore 9510 from post number 2
The map should be alright.

1) Reset The Device and start it till the announcement "No map found" Or You cannot use this map on this device
--
Copie the chosen map (US South Atlantic 965 7250)
to your SD Card in his own folder.
If you open the map you see the loose files and probably a folder (brand).
Not a map in a map.
--
2) Copy "FastActivate.exe" to your SD Card)

Run "FastActivate.exe".

    Select 2 and Done

Brilliant, that's worked.

One last thing if you don't mind - I'm getting a new message "None of the available voices can be used with the current language. You will not hear any spoken instructions." Is there someone where to download the default voice?
