when useing fastactive do you need to use the 4 options
i use update meta then maps voices as i just run this from inside the map folder.
also why can you only change your linked device once every six months with tomtom is there away round this

You could try the paperclip reset now you're up & running which may stop the rebooting (or clearflash.exe again) neither of which can hurt.
Re TT.com, just use a different (even a dummy) email address for another device...like "[email protected]"

after hours of headscratching and support off all you guys i might have resolved the rebooting problem
went over to my windows xp hard drive and found out everytime i tried to do a backup and restore
that ther was an antithefw that was corrupt each time i tried to delet it through tthome i couldn't
and even when i deleted it it always came back the file itself shown 0kb which confused me
found adobie photoshop cs5 had changed all the bitmap images to photoshop
so tthome never reconised it uninstalled photoshop and hey presto tthome let me do a full backup and restore
truck navcore downloaded from tomtom work web site all upto date mapshare up to date all through tthome
seem to have better results useing winxp than win7.
fingers crossed this has sorted it out
once again thanks guys for all your help

Finally sorted, well done with your patience.

Re backups, always do a full Windows backup (as per attached)
Don't rely on TTHome backup which is NOT a full backup.

Thanx for the update.

1. FFR, WE NEVER USE TT HOME FOR BACKUP & RECOVERY. COPY & PASTE IS THE PREFERRED METHOD.

2. You won't get better results using XP rather than Win7. You will get better results by not using TT Home.

Have you run clearflash.exe 3 times (allowing a reboot each time first)?

If still no luck; stick with the SD card & ignore the troublesome internal memory.

Guess you're using a reasonable quality SD card; Kingston, Sandisk etc and not some real cheapie which could be too slow?

If your card's a goodun then bin the unit!
