OK, to sumarise (this is all on SD card as we think the internal's buggered? and we're ignoring TTHome for now) and to make it easier to keep track of what you're doing:
1. That prepatched 8.351 (correct for an x20) booted up OK. Did you then add a compatible map, crack it & all went well without constant rebooting etc?
2. You put my prepatched 8.398 & truck map on 4gb card, cracked the map (creating a meta.dct AND a tmeta.dct in the truck map folder) and still doing the reboot thing?
a) Confirm you're using an SDHC compatible card reader to do all this card loading stuff as some older ones can't read/write to SDHC's?
b) Each/any card that is booting OK (albeit it then recycling) has a ttgo.bif file in the root of the card which should be created everytime the device boots up.

Have you a branch of Halfords nearby?

Bloody slow refresh rate..............still worth following up my queries though.

no dave had the same problem with the sdcard rebooting
it is now all running off internal.
even when i put your pre patched truck navcore on it rebooted or just stuck on startup screen
bought new card reader a few weeks ago which is able to read sdhc cards and micro sdcards
one other thing i did find is that when i run fastactive there was no meta in the map folder
it was always in the root folder.
and yes we do have a halfords close by

OK, so internal's working fine now, good. Now do a full windows backup of your internal memory.
Try a different cracking tool for the 4gb truck SD card as it should always add the dct's into the map folder, not the root.
Assuming it does indeed add the 2 dct's to the map folder, remember to insert all/any SD cards in your device before switching on, not afterwards!

Put put a ttgo.bif copy & Fastactivate in the map folder and run it from there, first by clicking the meta update button , then the map button.

have done all that and still have the same problem
i think it's nackerd like me

How about copying everything you have from internal to SD card, insert card THEN switch on and plan a route then check mapshare etc via TTHome and report back again.
