Postby slyevo » Sat Jan 15, 2011 11:13 am

Hi
I recently updated my 710 to navcore 9.53. When i try to use voice recognition is says that the files are not installed?
I checked & the ASR folder is on the card, I have uk & Ireland 860.3128 map installed...
I would appriciate any help to resolve this problem.
Thx
Mark

Resolution is quite easy. Go here: All New Maps 860.XXXX Take a look at the chart in post 1. You will see that 860.3128 maps don't have Voice Recognition.

Download a map with support for ASR like the 860.3101 and it will work.

Help

Postby slyevo » Sun Jan 16, 2011 9:53 am

Hi again
Thanks for your help in my previous post worked brilliantly, I have one more question....
I installed navcore version 9.53 and my tomtom randomly turns on after i have switched it of. I have read that this is something to do with faulty software?
What navcore would be the best for this version of tomtom without losing too many features like voice recognition?
Thx
Mark

Please try a hard reset followed by the TT clear flash tool (3 times), that often solves those problems.
You can try any Navcore you like, my personal favourite is still the 9.004 even if it was updates by the 9.014.

Hi Mark, If you want a second opinion, 9.205 - All features available using 860.3101 maps and although the switching on/off is a little quirky* , it's easily managed. I prefer the menu layout of this navcore but it's all about personal prefs at the end of the day as Downunder says.

*Powers on after 40 secs if you remove the card, also powers on after 40 secs if you connect to a power source (incl mobile mount) and you can't switch it on manually once it's connected - ya just gotta wait! If you switch it on BEFORE connecting to a powered mount, it will stay on ok.

1. Yes.
2. No. The bootloader is a file named "system".
3. No.

Which ever navcore you choose, use the .cab download & the SE or X ttsystem download.

I totally agree with macca my 710 did the same no matter what navcore i used. I sold it once but the new owner could not get it to work because he did not understand what not do and what to do to get it working. installed original navcore in the end and unit behaves normally now. Sold it now with no problems for new owner.:D
