TomTom 720 SD Activation

Mon Aug 02, 2010 8:35 pm

I have read through the forum and think I need some clarification when activating an SD Memory card.

If I understand correctly, one can prepare a map folder just as one would do for updating say a map on a TomTom 910 and copy the map to the SD card insuring that the togo.bif file is on the SD. Then you insert the SD card and then patch it. Is this correct?

Do I have to put a navcore on the SD card as well or once inserted and patched the map is activated and one just has to make a map switch to utilize it.

Thanking you beforehand for your responses. Fred

1. Yes. If you use FastActivator, it must be on the card also.
2. A navcore does not have to be on the card. There is no such thing as making a map switch. You change maps in "Change preferences", Switch maps.
