Hi guys
I hope one day to be in a position to post something other than questions on here but until I graduate:- After successfully upgrading my 710 I decided to get a little more bold I bought a 730 off ebay listed as "faulty just reboots on splash screen" I cleaned the internal drive and loaded up Downunder's 9400 which I have been using for the last few days and works flawlessly.
However I had got hooked on the Voice command function and my problem is that I have a TMC-RDS receiver and all the emu's on 9400 with voice command block the TMC function as they are looking for traffic on HD Live which I don't have.
What Navcore would you advocate for the 730 that will give me all the voice command functions but still allow me to use the TMC receiver.
Thanks in advance.

why not try 8.398 and put the latest truck map on for a bit of fun

Well I wondered if there was anything newer than that but yes that is a possibility.

I use the 9.400 in X40 and the voice commands, but can't say anything about traffic as I don't use it (not that I could avoid traffic in the city though).

x40 unfortunately knocks out the tmc function will have to go to a lower navcore I think 8398 doesn't give you the voice command on the main screen. Would 9026 run on 730?

The issue isn't the navcore, it's the emu you are using. Voice command requires X40 or X50. X30 tmc doesn't function in X40 or X50. Bottom line is it's an either or situation, but not both.

Ok put 8412 on run in x40 and got everything so any idea why it won't run on the 9400 x40? 9026 on 710 gives both so would 9026 work on 730?

He would not for my version ;)
There were some NC SE/X versions in the past that offered the hardware functions of the X30 emu in X40 too, but it only worked for the light sensor.
My version does not modify the hardware handles for the modes - it only "fools" the NC to think you have a device of the choosen emu. (simply speaking)
Why this affects the TMC functions in such a bad way is not kown to me.

It seems to be that 9400 x40 defaults to "live traffic" because when I tapped the traffic icon it kept saying " live services are not available" and when I plug the dual charger/tmc receiver in there is no traffic bar.
So:
Ok bit the bullet and loaded it up with 9026 and as far as I can tell without road testing everything seems to work except the light sensor. I can live without that as I can change it with a tap on voice command so no big deal will let you know how it performs and if it works ok on the road test.

Just an update after road testing the unit. Had some problems with 9026 TMC receiver just could not find a signal so tried 9150 se and hey presto everything works fine except light sensor and as I said I can change that with a quick tap on voice command so now a happy bunny got everything I wanted. Thanks a lot chaps.

Sorry for the delay in replying have been working away.
To be truthful I am not sure (I am a bit new to this lark) I assume it is a modified 40? I used the navcore ; se 9150.564646 for 64mb devices which is self instaling and there does not appear to be a config file in it. I did not mess with anything in it after instal other than to create a ttgo.bak file and overwrite the TTS file with my old one and it works like a dream as is.
In fact I get a better lock on with my TMC receiver than I have ever had before so it seems to suit the device really well (it did take about 72 hours to lock on initially). Have voice command and every other function except light sensor. 885 UK/IRL map and 880 France map as I work over there.
If any one is playing with TMC receivers I have noticed that when you first instal them it some times takes a long time for them to lock on to a station in the first instance. However if you get the mctx file right after the first log on it creates a data file and then seems to log on ok there after. It may be worth saving the gns.dat file on your old navcore and transferring it after upgrade (I have not tried this yet) but it does seem that it needs this file to get a quick fix. Mine is now logging on to the station in my drive where as my old tomtom 710 never found a signal at home even with its proper navcore.

1. Is there a Music icon in the unit's Main Menu? If Yes, download the attached model.txt file & copy it to the unit. Disconnect & reboot.
2. Has the Music icon changed to a Media icon? If so, go: Change preferences, Brightness preferences & check "Switch to night colors when dark". Your unit will now switch to night based on time rather than the light sensor.

That's fixed it!
