I don't know but from what I received from Tomtom (official website) they garantee the support for the Go5200 for ONLY 4, 5 or 6 years.
Once they stop the updates (developpement of the software, etc) for the Go 5200, Lifetime updates stops also.
I guess they calculate the use of memory, knowing that a map grows approx 300Mb a year,
without the use of internal memory for the OS.
Buth the Go5200 has 16Gb and ....... it's still to be considered as "end of lifetime" after 4, 5 or 6 years (they don't mention a longer period)
I have the same with my Rider V5 which shows on every update that the support stops in 2025 (after 10 years).
So the duration of lifetime depends clearely on the type of GPS.

For the rider I took a copy of the picture but I'm not able to post it here.
But ... If you ask the question directly to tomtom, I'm sure you will get the answer I got.

They don't specify that lifetime means 4, 5 or 6 years for a go5200
and 10 years for a Rider V5 unless you ask them a direct question.
And I think I'm right due to the answers I personally got from tomtom (where they specify lifetime to the above periods)
and the picture (which I can not post here - not possible to add them) I have copied from my Rider.
But only the future will proof how long Tomtom will support these (free) devices.
Doubt is on their side.
