tomtom go 910 bricked? need help!

Don't be so sure !
He said he got an error for a missing file during the boot and the device shows up as unkown.
AFAIK with a broken connector you get nothing at all on the PC.
To be sure there are two options :
1. Take the drive out and test it with an adaptor on the PC
2. Replace the drive with a new one or a CF card with adaptor.

While the device is open you should check all connectors witch an Ohm meter and a good magnifying glass for broken solder points.

i just switched my 910 on and it is asking to select a map... but as the device isn't recognized i can put a map there... going to open it right now
