TomTom GO 910 - Missing North America

Postby picabotwo » Fri Nov 18, 2011 6:16 pm

I have an old Go 910 that I am trying to update to the latest North American maps. I got North_America_2GB_880.3810 and used fastactivate.exe I patched the navcore, clicked on maps and patch tomtom dll and nothing gave any errors. Rebooted device and its only showing the three older maps (Canary Islands, Guam, Western and Central Europe).

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Did you click the FastActivate "update meta.txt" button before you patched the map?

I clicked on update meta.txt, then maps, then rebooted. Still nothing!

1. I deleted your screen shot because it listed your device's Unique ID, which you should never post.
2. Look for the .meta.dct file in the NA map folder.

The file North_America_2GB-452.meta.dct exists under the (tomtom) G:\North_America folder. When I connect to tomtom home it shows the map as items on my device (as complete) but when I reboot my
tomtom it only shows the 3 other maps.

If the 910 is not showing or listing the map

I sounds like you may be using and old version of Navcore.

That is the next thing on my list. 3810 requires navcore 8.20X or higher.

picabotwo, go here: TomTom Current Config for newbies {29.09.2011} Read the instructions. Download & run the app. Post the results here.

You just need to update to a newer version of Navcore.

Then patch the Navcore.

You are going to need 8.2 or newer.

See the chart here

http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?7794-All-New-Maps-v880.XXXX

If you have HOME just let HOME update your device.

You may need to let HOME update your device a few times... till it brings it up to the latest version.....then patch it.

Be carefull using downloads/navcores that are not made for your device...or tested by someone that has experience.

Some navcore versions contain bootloaders that can damage your device.

Actually you have the current/supported navcore for your device, which is 7.903. 8.412 including it's bootloader 5.5128 will work just fine for you.

Here is a pre-patched 8.412 ttsystem file: SE_ttsystem.8.412.1236.rev1.1.rar

Since 7.903 is the current 910 navcore, this won't work.
BTW, some members prefer this method, Navitotal does not. We don't use TT Home for backups, navcore upgrades or new maps.

True, but not an issue here.
