Given that I have no experience with this navcore, it's kind of hard to tell that they (the few people who posted) did not mean that the FM transmitter was completely working.

Correct, a person stated that. FM Transmitter works for music, but not instructions.

If you read all the posts again properly you will see FM transmitter is for music

Well yeah, I figured that out now.

My point is, there was no mention of that specific issue by post 27, only that there was a general issue with the FM trans, and then a reply saying it was working.

I will take full blame for any misunderstanding about the FM transmitter, because I made the comment in post 25 about a "general issue" with it. FM instructions wasn't brought into the conversation until your post 33.

Cool.

I'm not looking to blame anyone, but I just didn't want anyone to misunderstand my position either.

I understand, but I did not provide you with adequate help in a timely manner. Navitotal is striving to give First Class service, which I didn't do.

No worries.

So I'm doing some thinking, and maybe this has been discussed before, is the lack of FM instructions due to x40 emulation? When I use x30 emulation, the unit freezes in preferences.

I have instructions over FM on 9.051 ME right now.

Mon Jun 28, 2010 12:24 am

And it's functioning properly?

Mon Jun 28, 2010 12:27 am

Yup.

My only disappointment is that there is no voice control when I don't use any emulation in the config folder. I'm testing to see if I can get both voice control and fm instructions when using the x40 emu. I'll report back with results.

Tested 9.051 ME in the following modes
x40 emu
x30 emu
Original (GO 930)

No difference between the x30 emu and the original since I have a 930.

No Instructions over FM for the x40 emu. Music over FM works though.

My computer voices that I downloaded from HOME for the 930 did not appear in x40 emu for some reason. I had to switch the model to x30 emu or original, delete them from HOME and then reinstall them to get the computer voices to re-appear.

Methinks if x30 emu can work properly on other v9 Navcores, maybe we can get Instructions over FM. I tried using x30 emu on 9.051 with less than stellar results.

Unfortunately, ME does not have voice control, so the ideal for me would be a working v9 SE Navcore with x30 emulation.

Downgrading a v9 SE navcore to x30 will defeat the whole purpose of upping the navcore, in the first place.

n00b question: How does a navcore directly relate to a model?

I thought model (hardware) and navcore (software) are independent of each other?

Would x30 models not be able to support voice control natively?

Navcores are designed for specific models. At the bottom of post 1 in the "Latest Navcores" thread, under OFFICIAL NAVCORES, you can see what model/models each navcore is designed for.
The official navcore for your unit is 8.351. It will function on any 20 or 30 model as is, but not on any other model without patching it.
x30 models will not support voice control without using a patched navcore.

Hallo to all, I have a TomTom Go 930 T with official navcore 8.3.51. I would like to use the latest navcore available, if possible version 10.
I would like to know which new functions are in version 9 and version 10.

What do I have to do to be able to keep all the functions originally available also FM Transmitter and to also make it working together with TomTome Home for possible Updates then?
What new features are available with navcore 9 or navcore 10 maps?

Thanks in advance.
