Either Make FastActivate work like the New NavCore auto-installer, which is,
run from where ever and select your unit's drive letter

or

Either Make NavCore auto-installer work like FastActivate, which is,
run it from the root your Unit directly,,,

This way, i mean, stuff would all work the same way :P

what you think?

This suggestion is not needed, Navcore installer can run from the device or the PC , but there is no need to copy to the device that just makes things more work, Also these are 2 totally difrent tools you are talking about they can not be compared.

  • Yes, take a full backup with windows copy and paste,
  • Run the .exe from your PC with the tomtom attached
  • Choose the drive of the tomtom in the installer and choose install
  • If it asks to overwrite any files say YES ;)

i just love you guys and wanna say that you're top of my Christmas Card list! I do have one question...

What's a Backup ? I like to move forwards, me .... Oh, I remember now ... it's one of those folders that I have dozens of, that I never use or get around to deleting ...
I ask myself... "Do cooks keep a spare cake in case the one they're making doesn't turn out?"... Naaaa.. they just make another one!

Mmmmmmmmmmwah!

Backups are not so important if you know what you are doing and can get it working easily with no help, But for newbies backups can be important if the user screws up theyer device and there is no one around on here to fix it for them straight away , or maybe they are missing some files from theyer new setup that is easily copied over from the backup.

Ha ha ha ! Could be I missed my calling? (it was non-alcohol inspired too - just the thought of backups tickling my s.o.h.)

Back to the plot ... I think it might just be delay between files being uploaded and being available for download through mirrors etc, but a friend downloaded the amended versions an hour or so AFTER they were updated last night, and got the versions without the autoactivation exe's. I've not re-tried myself but will do so tonight out of idle curiosity. TFI Friday ...........

it appears that 9.205 does not include autoactivate but it does function 100%, this was the first package created by pietu, i will edit the package now to include it ;)

Cool :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Have just used the 9.205 package with an 855.2884 map to bring my 510 back from the edge of darkness (a blank card!) - no problem.

However, same navcore onto an equally ancient ONE from the wife's car (32Mb ... the ONE that is, not the wife) and although it loaded, when a map was added it couldn't cope at all, locked up/froze instead of displaying map. Installed the 8.412 package instead - no problems. Left me thinking that 9.205 is not suited to 32Mb boxes.

Have a great weekend - Macca

The 9.xxx navcores in general don't do well on the small screen units.
