1. Your avatar is against the rules. Please change it to receive any more help.
2. Please delete your DSN & DUI from your Sig.
3. It appears you have a map that was not downloaded from the 865 thread.
4. It's not a zip by the way. X_ttsystem.9.205.547817.1.rar

1) Okay, I don't understand how my avatar was against the rules, but, I have changed it quickly and without argument.
2) I put fake numbers and letters in those fields, but now they are completely gone.
3) Of course I don't have a map downloaded from the 865 thread, I'm only asking about installing a new navcore. When I did my last installation, with the autoinstall that we've talked about, my map worked fine.. it was the sound that didn't work. I will get a newer map, but for now I'm learning how to install the navcore.
4) I stand corrected, it is indeed a .rar file, apologies.

Are we set for more help?

1. It is considered as advertising.
2. OK
3. OK
4. No problem

2. If you have JB now, it should work with the upgrade..

The problem I have with this is that there is a ttsystem file in both the .cab file and the .rar file. Which one do I use? See the image:

You can see in these screen caps that there are two different ttsystem files, they are different sizes.

I am well aware of what is in the .cab & .rar.
Read the instruction below as 2 steps.

1. Copy all of the .cab files then only the ttsystem & PNDNavigator files from the .rar, overwriting any common files.

Something is obviously wrong here. I did exactly as you said, extracting the .cab to the root of my TomTom, then I copied the ttsystem & PNDNavigator files to the root of my TomTom. I ejected it and rebooted. Everything works, except that there is no sound.

Was the sound working after you installed your backup in post 242?

Yes it was, I tested voices and even did a quick route down the street to make sure the voices played to give instructions.

After installing 9.205, do you have a LoquendoTTS folder?

I've had a play around with the 710 and its new updates. It seems to be fine except that the day/night sensor doesn't appear to work any more.

Is there a setting I need to amend to get this to work again or is it just an unfortunate side effect of the updates?

Auto day/nite works with emu x50.

In x50 emu it operates in some form of timed mode it seems?
It's switching to night ok, but ignoring the sensor itself.

Small price to pay for the upgrades i guess. I did like the progressive approach of the sensor though.

Might be worth taking a look at getting voice command and control running and use that to change over.

1. You are correct. It is time based.
2. C & C runs quite well with 9.205 & emu x50. I don't see any advantage in using it over the auto day/nite feature.
