4) Yes, thank you, downloaded 9.135 and will try soon but the Navcore title suggest this is for my XXL 540 and XL 250 only.
For Go 910 should I be downloading 9.134 for GO series?

1. Check post 314.
2. Don't let the navcore title fool you. Example: 9.205 is a RIDER 3 navcore.

Hi tendriver,
1) Downloaded PNDNavigator 9061.rar, un-rar & copied to XXl 540, normal restart and also hard reset via the switch button but no changes found in the XXL menu.
There isn't a 'Ask for a destination' or 'Start-up preferences' icon.
Any steps that I could have missed out here? Thanks .

Not if you copied both files into your device.

I just installed the 9.026 SE navcore to my XL 340 IQ Routes. After copying I rebooted the GPS, it displayed the legal disclaimer, and I hit "agree," then it rebooted and stayed stuck on the logo screen. I do have a map (USA and Canada 865.3262) on the device but not activated yet, since it never fully rebooted so I could proceed to that step.

Can anyone suggest how to fix it? Over the past few days I've been trying to use HOME to download navcores, which boot just fine but obviously refuse to use the map; then when I patch the navcores and activate the map the GPS inevitably gets stuck at the logo screen or reboots indefinitely.

1. You boot the unit before activating a map, only if a clean install has been peformed. The boot creates a ttgo.bif file, which the patcher uses to patch the map. Use windows explorer to open your 340. If you see a ttgo.bif file, then proceed with the map patching. If not, copy the ttgo.bif file from your backup into your unit & proceed.

It was a clean install. As I said, my problem is that after installing an SE navcore, or after installing an official navcore and then patching it, my GPS won't boot. It either stays on the boot logo screen, or displays the logo, resets, logo, resets, and so on.

What navcore was on the unit before you started?

A desperate Australian TomTom user here.

I have had this one tucked away for around 2 years and have pulled it back out and want to update it.

It is a TomTom GO720, and i have backed up the original drive to my pc. It had Australian 700.XXXX maps on it and the navcore was 8.XXX (I can provide these exact releases if necessary).
I downloaded the navcore 9.205 auto installer package from this website and ran it, then i downloaded the 865.3245 Australian maps autoinstaller and ran it as well. Unfortunately when i disconnect the TomTom it just gives me a message telling me "Problem with maps, this map will not work with this device" or something to that effect.

Is there anything i am doing wrong here? I am prepared to follow whatever steps to get this working, any help would be greatly appreciated.

When i connect the GPS it has 2 available drives locations, 1 which is around 2GB and another which is about 512 mb. Not sure which is the memory card or if this is relevant but i may be installing to the wrong drive or something and i just wanted to give all pertinent information. I have been installing to the 512mb drive.

1. The 9.205 navcore is pre-patched, so no problem there. The maps are auto-installed, but not auto-patched. Run the included patcher to patch the map.
2. The 2GB "drive location" is the unit's internal storage memory. The 512MB "drive location" is a SD card, that somebody has inserted into the card slot on the bottom of the case.

I'm not sure of the version that was on it when I received it, although it was in the 8 series. After I wiped it once, TomTom HOME prompted me to install 8.415, and later prompted me to upgrade to 9.026, hence my choice of the 9.026 SE navcore.

OK. Did you let Home install 9.026 & use the pre-patched 9.026 ttsystem file in the "Latest Navcore" thread?

Just had Home install 9.026 again, then renamed the old ttsystem and copied the prepatched ttsystem in its place. It rebooted, loaded my map just fine, and went to the standard navigation screen, except I couldn't see the usual text or icons; most of it was gray. I left it alone for a few seconds and it rebooted itself and now it's stuck in a reboot loop.

Getting closer, I hope? :o

tendriver: I got the maps auto-installer from this thread http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?4551-All-New-Maps-865.XXXX
It says under 'Automatic Installer & Patcher Instructions:' that the patching process is done automatically as well. If this is incorrect, what software do you recommend i use to patch the maps after autoinstallation? The file i downloaded was the auto-installer for the first of the Australian maps, and is has no such patching softwarte included.

Again any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. As it turns out on this particular GO720, the 512mb is in fact the internal memory and the 2 GB was the memory card. I determined this simply by removing the SD card before plugging it in to my pc. So i am to install the navcore and map pack to the internal memory?
