TomTom Automatic Navcore Installation

IDoAsIPlease wrote:I need USA_and_Canada maps please.

I downloaded and attempted to run:

1. SE_Navcore.8.412.1236_32mb_devices
(Got this error: device might be full)

2. 880 maps with automatic installer and FastActivate
(got this error: error unpacking error3: corrupted setup file!)

3. neither worked.

4. Now the device will not load past the tt one screen when it loads.

5. I sure hope I didn't mess this thing up :(

1. You got the error message because your device is full.
2. Which USA & C map did you download.
3. Usually attributed to user's lack of experience & patience.
4. Not a problem. Now you can delete everything on your unit. Copy everything from your backup, except the old map folder, into your unit. Re-run SE_Navcore.8.412.1236_32mb_devices. You can download another copy of the map from here: 880 maps with automatic installer and FastActivate
or we can do it manually, your choice.
5. Nah, you haven't hurt it.

I am not sure if this is correct but, I downloaded

"880 maps with automatic installer and FastActivate."

Is this correct?

Alright, I am going to explain in detail what I did to make the TomTom One Work again.

1.) FIRST MAKE SURE to back up your old file
(select ALL, copy, paste to a folder on desktop)

2.) Delete everything on your unit. (I did a disk scan and defragment emptied recycle bin of unit)

3.) Copy everything from your backup, except the old map folder, into your unit.

4.) Run SE_Navcore.8.412.1236_32mb_devices.

5.) Install the maps for your device (mine were 880 maps with automatic installer and FastActivate)

6.) Click finish

7.) at the end a window pops up with 3 buttons to click, this updates/patches the unit and your done.

A SPECIAL Thanks to tendriver...

the device is working good so far! :yahoo:

1. OK. Good.
2. This is not normally necessary. I asked you to do it, since you had an install & boot issue.
3. Since 2. is not norally necessary, then neither is 3.
4. OK. Good.
5. OK. Good. 880 is the current map Edition, so 880 is what everybody's will be.
6. OK.
7. It patches the map, speedcams, fuel, etc, not the unit.

You are Welcome!!

Hi,

So I unrarred the patched PNDnav and copied it to the root of the device.

Now, to install a new map, do I just copy it to the device ?

I'm allmost there

1. Remove the old map folder. Download & unzip the new map. Copy the new map folder into the unit & patch it with FastActivate.

2. Yes, if it will fit in the unit memory. Which 880.3611 map do you have in mind?

I meant 880.3868, Western Europe. It is 1gb and should fit on the device (but only just).

I will do what you said and post back the results later this evening.

thank you tendriver !

Western Europe 1GB 880.3868 = 1.088GB & will not fit.

Europe 1GB West 880.3868 = 760MB & will fit.

Hi tendriver,

I installed the pndnav and map 880.3868 Europe 1GB West, but before patching with FastActivate,
I have 2 final questions if possible...

1. can I update the speedcams on this TomTom One (remember it has the special pndnav 8.041),
and if so :

2. do I just follow the normal procedure to do it (as described in a few threads), or do I need to follow some special rules for this aswel cause it's navcore 8.041 ?

1. Yes. 8.041 makes no difference.

2. Put the speed cam ov2 & ov2.ver files for the areas needed in the map folder & run FastActivate. It will patch map and cams at the same time.

I did everything like you said.

The map works fine -> THANK YOU !

Speedcams don't. Also can't see any option in the menus to check the warning boxes.
Maybe this thing just doesn't have the speedcam option ?

A big RESPECT to you tendriver. Couldv'e never done this so smoothly without you :clap:

The speedcams are located under Tomtom services.

1. Congrats!!!

2. Explain "Speedcams don't" Remember that you are our eyes. Our answers are only as good as what you tell us you see or don't see.

3. Do you see a TomTom Services icon anywhere in the Main Menu?
