1. They are both computer voices. VocalizerTTS came first for the 32MB units. LoquendoTTS came on the scene with the roll out of 64MB units.
2. You don't have a choice. As I said Loquendo is a big problem for 32MB units.

If I have the Vocalizer voices on my unit now, won't they still be there after new Navcore is installed? Or can I manually copy them back on after the new Navcor? I don't want a big problem.

It is always best to have full and working backup ;)

Loading a new navcore will not affect Vocalizer voices already on the device. As Downunder stated, "It is always best to have full and working backup", just in case something else goes wrong.

Please stop asking around like that.
We are here to help but by now you should have learned how to post a request properly.
There is only one Truck NC, so do your homework ;)

I played around with my ONE XL S for days trying all combinations of v9 SE and DSA Navcor's and played around with setconfig.txt in the SEs and I can't find any combination that lets the computer voice and RDS-TMC traffic work. I usually get one or the other working, but not both. I tried all the suggestions I found on here but still can't do it. It seems I have no choice but to stick with the 8.010 official version. Has anyone gotten any v9 to work on this unit with both computer voices and traffic?

@Blimp: Not sure about your serial number but :
Version 8.081
(TomTom XL 30 Series with serial numbers starting with RM, RN, RO, RP, RV and ONE 30-Series with serial numbers starting with PN, PO, PP, PQ)

  • Minor improvements
So maybe worth checking?

@zworba: any Navcore should work if installed correctly, your bootloader should be 5.5112 or higher.

You must patch the navcore & map. Go here: AutoActivate & FastActivate 1.8.8.5 Read the instructions, then select the FastActivate Premium version. Run FA P & click the first 3 buttons, 1 at a time, left to right. Disconnect & reboot.

http://www.2shared.com/file/_bp-1ufn..._ttsystem.html Download this .rar. Copy the 2 files into your unit, overwriting the common file. Open the model.txt file with Notepad & change it to modelid:24. Disconnect & reboot.
