I've never updated a bootloader. Do you have a link to a tutorial to do it ?
What is the max size of a SD card I can use ? 16 go is ok ?

Run TomTom Current Configuration {29.09.2011} & post your results.

I have a TT One XL with navcore 4.410 and map 8.85 with IQ Routes. All maps update (8.90 and 8.95) with IQRoutes requires navcore 9. I tryed navcores 9.026 and 9.101 with map 8.95 and both freeze when I try to plan a route and then reset. I imagine that is a lack of memory. Both experiences used SD cards.
Which navcore can I use with new map 895.4438?

May I suggest you look at navcore 9.430 here: http://www.navitotal.com/showthread....5693#post75693 or 9.450 here: Navcore 9.450 with memory boost for 32mb devices and integrated GPSFix

Hi moderators of this fantastic site !
I've been working on a ONE 3rd edition (3.5" screen, 1GB, 32MB, no SD).
1. The owner said that a few weeks ago the sound suddenly completely disappeared.
I've been resetting it but even the TomTom drum can't be heard.
No crack, peep or whatever.
I could not find anything which can be corrected in the volume level, mute, poi warning setting (which, so I gathered could also be the cause of failing sound), or speaker output
So I expected a hardware problem but was not sure.
1. It has an BL v5.5022 which is okay as far as I've understood
2. It had NC 8.010 which was functioning but while connecting it with TTHome presented some Polish message on a otherwise Dutch installation. It turned out the device had been patched once before by a man from Poland.
3. I updated existing map to current version (900 Europe_South_1GB and 895 Benelux) successfully.
(Navitotal maps of course!)
4. In an effort to 'correct' the 'crypto' Polish NC, I updated to NC 8.410. It was my first time doing but I succeeded yesterday in getting a working TomTom.
5. However, the sound is not restored, perhaps making it probable that it is a hardware problem.
I've read that it can be a defective speaker or a contact which has been shook loose on the road.
What do you think. Is it worth unscrewing the unit to take a look at the speaker ?
EDIT: In the meantime I have unscrewed and peeled it open. Didn't see loose contacts. Unplugged the wires and pressed the contacts. Alas. all to no avail...
6. Although I do not think it's probable that the sound issue is software related, is it worth while to install a newer NC like 9.205 for the new Rider 3 as tendriver suggested with a similar TT model in post 389?

Thanks in advance !

If the sound stopped and a different NC made no difference than your hardware is faulty.
Installing yet another NC won't change it.

Yeah, I guessed so.
But would it otherwise serve some use to upgrade to a NC like 9.205 or would it be wisest and prudent to stick to my current working (but no sound) configuration with NC 8.410?

I've been wondering for some time now... What's the NT underneath a lot of posts?

A SE 9.XXX navcore will give you the new menu, but not much more, due to the small internal memory & no card slot.
NT is usually just the abbreviation for NaviTotal. Where are you seeing it?

Okay, thanks for clearing that up. Will not take the effort to upgrade to the 9.xxx NC.

NT ? I'm seeing it under practically any post. ;-D
Well, four instances on this page. Including this one.

NaviTotal seems logical but even then...why ?

Hi,
Can't get any links working for SE_Navcore.9.205.547817_32mb_devices.rar (Widescreen ONLY) as currently I have an XL one with 8.010 navcore
Many thanks

Forget 9.205; take a look at this: Universal Navcore Installer

Bloody marvellous !

Many thanks for your help but having problems.

I have a TomTom One XL

I Downloaded the installer

I presume I use the XL 9.510 which I intalled onto the SD card via a memory card reader
I also tried the 32MB devices option for 9.510

When I switch on the TomTom it displays a blue SD Card with a big red cross

What am I doing wrong?

Sun Sep 15, 2013 7:48 pm

Was your SD card also in use on your TT before you installed the 9.510 NC?
If no, you did it wrong.
What the storage capacity of the SD?
What is the version of your BootLoader?

The general procedure is that you overwrite all the files on your TT (or SD) and keep all the folders.

Look at downunder's signature and do what he requests you to do.
Remove your device ID.

Mon Sep 16, 2013 3:52 am

The red cross shows the TT can't use what's on the SD.
This either means the Navcore is installed the wrong way, incomplete or
the SD is in fact a SDHC while the TT is using an outdated bootloader.

Thanks for the reply.

So the 9.510 installer updates the previous version on the SD card?

I had wiped the card and thought it needed doing as a fresh install

What dom you mean about removing the device ID

Many thanks fior your time
