TomTom Automatic Navcore Installation

Postby eskro » Mon Sep 27, 2010 4:25 am

ttgo.bif and ttgo.back should indicate your official navcore version.... in this case, navcore 8351

then ttgo.ori needs to indicate your current installed navcore... which is 9026

Plan B: Delete the .bak & .ori files. Download this version.txt file, copy it into your device & reboot.

Bingo!!!! You MUST use "SAVE AS". Open your ttgo.bif. Make the changes to lines 9 & 10, then SAVE AS ttgo.bak.

Just read over last few comments again, and just to clarify the problem
was not with ttgo.bak. The problem was making the changes to ttgo.bif
stay. So what im going to try is putting the right numbers in to ttgo.bif
as you said and saving as "ttgo.bif". it was ttgo.bif that was changing
after boot up....

You are not getting the process of it,

The ttgo.bif will always change on startup when not using a .ori ,

ttgo.bif will have the current navcore in use
ttgo.bak is a replica of ttgo.bif BUT with latest officiall navcore numbers ;)

NO, NO, NO. We know the problem. PLEASE FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY. Open your ttgo.bif. Make the changes to lines 9 & 10, then SAVE AS ttgo.bak.

Bad news im afraid guys ttgo.bak and ttgo.ori say what they should do
even after reboot, but ttgo.bif will not stay as 7903 after a reboot even
with ttgo.ori being present.....doh

Even tried plan b with the new model.txt and still no joy
I think what i should do is get another 4gb sd card and
try from scratch again do you agree?
