I have a tomtom one XL Europe,DeviceName=TomTom ONE XL
DeviceVersionHW=ONE XL
BootLoaderVersion=53026
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8010
ApplicationVersion=9369
CurrentMap=Western_Europe_1GB
CurrentMapVersion=710.1561

I have tryed the automatic install of SE_Navcore.9.205.547817_32mb.
after a few min, it says that it cannot write file, probably because disk is full (yep 12kb remaing at this time).
What should I do, clean all file on the TT and try again, then download the european map (and wich one) ? will it work like that ? or some important files will be missing.

Thanks

Get a 4GB SDHC card to eliminate your space issue.

Thanks Tendriver for your reply.
If I'm not wrong, the TT One XL is quite old and doesn't support SDHC...
I have an empty SD of 2Gb, if I put it on the TomTom SD slot, it is not recognised (but it could be that the reason is that it is empty ?).
Is it possible to erease the Device content and then installing the Navcore ? Do this mean doing a "clean Install" ?
Regards

1. Fortunately you are wrong. SDHC support is a navcore/bootloader function, not a device function.
2. You are correct.
3. It is possible, but I don't recommend it. 2 things to remember. Your unit can't use internal & external at the same time. To use a card, it must have a complete setup on it. When inserted, it becomes the default setup.

I have copied the content of the device to a 2Gb SD, and installed the Navcore on it. It works but a little bit slow. Could be a poor speed of the card (will buy a Sandisk), or the device itself that is too slow for the last NavCore.
Now will try to install the Map. Wich one should I install ? See my map detail upper.
Thanks

1. Confirm you mean you copied 8.010 to the card & copied 9.205 on top of it.
2. You have several options. What area do you want to cover?

Thanks TenDriver for your precious help.
1. Confirm you mean you copied 8.010 to the card & copied 9.205 on top of it.

yep that's it, the 8.010 copy was done by copying the entire device to the sd card, then I launched the 9.205 autoinstall.
The initial map (still on the SD Card) was Western_Europe_1GB. This one is ok for me, but wich one should I install (there is many version of this one) ? Also I will need to remove my older one from the SD Card before install the last one (both wont fit on the 2Gb), will I need TT Home for this ? will I have to patch it before ? and with wich tool ?
Regards

1. Western_Europe_1GB_870_3417
2. Cut & paste your old map folder from the card. Copy & paste your new map to your card.
3. Yes the map must be patched. Make sure you have a copy of your device's ttgo.bif file on the card before patching.
4. FastActivate ENG 29.05.2011 {1.8.7.0} Read the instructions carefully.

Should TomTom Home in theory update my XL IQ Routes to the latest Navcore when I plug it in and run the update option? Becuase it recently updated by to 9.061 but there appears to be a 9.150 out for 64mb devices that I'm not being offered by TT Home.

9.150 is not a standard navcore for your device, that's why TTHome didn't offer it to you.

1. I had wondered that... so if I install it using the software from this forum there is the potential that it may not function correctly. (I tried it before and sometimes the sounds would stop working mid-journey, although I'm not convinced that I installed it correctly.)

2. Is it likely then that 9.061 is the last navcore update to be offered for the XL IQ Routes 1 ?

1. One of the problems with using a navcore that isn't designed for your device is having some feature in it not function properly. In your case, with 9.061 being the current XL IQ Routes navcore, there is nothing to be gained by changing it. Best advice that I can give you is "keep what you have".

2. Only TT knows the answer.

There are a couple of little things that I preferred about 9.150, such as the speedo still being displayed when the lane guidance was in operation, and the general responsiveness of the device was quicker... Overall though stability beats these hands down.
