Hi guy's, I'm new here and wanted to ask your help for my problem. I have a TT XL Classic for several years now and recently bought a second hand TT Start 25, thinking to have a newer device, so I can get newer maps by updating it. Just tonight I found out that I can't hack this device, so I'm looking for a way to hack the XL in order to use newer maps. Can you people please give me some advice?

Yes, you can update your device with a newer map but you need to understand a bit about your device first, read the map tutorial here

Thnx for your reply fredderf. After I posted my question I realized that I forgot to start a new thread, but couldn't find the right way to do so.
Maybe you can give me a hint. In the meantime I'll look into the tutorial again.

No, all you need to do is to copy the new map over and activate it with FastActivate

The instructions are provided on the FastActivate page but basically you select option 3 to patch the navcore to accept downloaded maps...then option 2 to activate the map

Once that is done all you need is:

1. The latest postcodes for [Please Register or Login to download file] which should be extracted into a folder called 'zip' and copied to the root of the device.
2. The latest SpeedCam files. Copy the 2 relevant files for the country(s) into it's map folder on the device and activate with option 2.

Assuming you downloaded a new Benelux map, you would refer to the SpeedCam page and put BE, NL & LU speedcam files into the new Benelux map folder and then copy that whole folder to your device and activate it.

Hi mate,

Personally I'd recommend a Go 540, 740, 940 or Go 550, 750, 950

Reasons being they are all widescreen, 64MB RAM and have a card slot....the differences between 5/7/9 is 1GB/2GB/4GB internal storage but cards are cheap enough to not have any space limitations.

There are some earlier Go models like x10, x20, x30 series as well but they're looking a little dated now but are still acceptable

So, if I can find one on the market I can update it as easily as the XL Classic?

Yes, exactly the same

The good thing is that all Go x40's & Go x50's official navcore is NC 9.510 which is the best one for features...and also ALL maps are compatible with it too

Hi Fredderf, I've bought a Go 740 live yesterday and now I'm downloading the Central Europe West map 985.8155, which by the way is very slow since I'm redirected to a site called Relink. Is there a faster way to download the maps?

Have you checked to see if that map already has a meta code available here before downloading?

Personally I'd go for the complete Europe 985.8155 map here...it'll be much faster to download and there IS already a meta code released for this map....you will need a card though as it's nearly 3GB in size.

You didn't say what navcore is installed on your new Go 740, if it's not NC 9.510 then you need to let [Please Register or Login to download file] update it for you.

You also didn't say which Benelux map you're talking about?

So we proceed assuming you have NC 9.510 installed and you want the fully featured Benelux 985.8155 map:

1. Download Benelux 985.8155 map either from [Please Register or Login to download file] or [Please Register or Login to download file]
2. Ensure your Benelux 985.8155 map is extracted into it's own folder & resides in the root of your device
3. Ensure FastActivate.exe also resides in the root of your device
4. Run FastActivate.exe from the root of your device and select option 2 to patch the map

Done.
