TomTom Go Classic which 4gb SD card to use?

Mon Aug 26, 2013 7:39 pm

Guys

My parents have a TomTom Go Classic [4D00.001] with truck navcore 8.398 and 880 truck map
running fine on a Kingston 4Gb SDHC card.

Now I've been attempting to upgrade navcore to 9.701 with latest 915 truck map on a new card [keeping original untouched]

I got myself another 4Gb SDHC card this time a SanDisk only to find that the Go Classic will not read it.
Also tried a PNY SDHC card that I had lying around - with no luck either. These cards read perfectly ok in PC.

I went back to a 2gb SD card and loaded navcore [no maps] - Go Classic read fine identifying no map found. Correct.

Now my questing is are there 'supported' or 'unsupported' 4gb sd cards that will work with this Go Classic device ? Should I stick only with Kingston ?

Please advise. Many thanks

Have you patched the 9.701 navcore & 915 Truck Map?

Tendriver

I dont have any issues with navcore or map.

I would like to hear from users of this device [Go Classic] and whether they have successfully used any 4gb cards other that the Kingston.

Thanks

Not all 4GB cards are SDHC.

And with bootloader 5.5112 or higher any TT will read SDHC cards without a problem....
