I just recently bought 2 TomTom XXL refurbished and after I updated my maps from TomTom home it says that I can't use that map with my TomTom. Now my Tomtom is just a paperweight. But my wife has the same TomTom and i updated hers with the same map from TomTom home and hers works fine. Any ideas on how I could fix this would be a help. Thx

How did you update?
Is the problem on the device or only in Home?
Have you checked the forum and tutorial section?

I updated it through TomTom home. The problem is both on home and on device it won't do anything now just waits for me to pick a different map. i tryed restoring and no luck getting it working yet.

Than you have not updated but copied the map from one device to the other which can not work.
Patch the Navcore and activate the map using FastActivate.

A map downloaded from TT Home is coded for the device that it was downloaded to. It can not be used on another device "as is". If this is what you have tried to do, as suggested by Downunder, then the fix is easy.
Go here: FastActivate 23.10.2011 {1.8.7.4} Read the instructions carefully. Download the Premium version. Patch the navcore & map, as Downunder instructed, by clicking all 4 FastActivate buttons, 1 at a time, left to right.
