TomTom devices not starting without re-insert of SD Card

Postby naviboy » Mon Mar 14, 2011 6:17 pm

OK

Following my Post "Updating Boot file for a SDHC in a GO500" which I solved and the post has been 'closed'.

Although everything is working OK, apart from; When the Tomtom is turned off/shut downf and then it will not restart unless I remove and re-insert the SDHC card.

This also applies to my TT, which I thought it was just a card slot problem. But now it appears the same problem is on both Devices, both using two different makes of 4G SDHC.

Any clues

Thanks

I had the same problem with my One V2 and I solved it by pushing the reset button for a few seconds. (with the sd-card in the device).
Now it's working correctly.

Regards and keep us informed.

I've experienced this too. The reset button usually fixes it.
If not, here's my fix:

1) After inserting the SD card, power on the TomTom.
2) Wait till it fully boots up. Then switch it off.
3) Next time you go to switch it on, hold the power button firmly for several seconds until it powers on.
4) If it does so, wait till it fully boots up, then switch it off again.
5) The next time you may need to hold the power button down for a few seconds, but not as long as the first time.
6) Switch it off once more.
7) The 3rd time you switch it on, it should boot up instantly.
