tomtom Go700 .dct error [Solved]

Postby majestic100 » Sun Nov 22, 2015 11:40 am

I have A Go700 currently running with UK & ROI 950_6544. TomTom Home indicated the new map 960_7057. Having downloaded and installed and then run FastActivate, I get an "Incomplete Maps" message indicating a .dct error. Any help appreciated. I've reverted in meantime to old map.

You probably did not put a meta.txt file containing the new map meta codes in the root of your GO 700.
It's probable (of likely) that your current version of FastActivate does not contain the most current meta information.

AD 93 38 49 06 59 3C B4 87 C5 F0 E7 79 08 1B 45 United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland-100579.meta ; United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland 960_7075
AC DF E5 CB 31 FA C5 F5 F1 56 F3 13 58 C0 31 21 United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland-100566.meta ; United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland 960_7056

Thanks for your response. The root directory did contain both the fastactivate.exe and meta.txt files; I'd downloaded the latest FastActivate which I assume has the latest meta.txt. I double checked this and repeated activation with same result.

Edit 1: Opened meta.txt of unzipped FastActivate and can confirm this includes your lines of meta code

Edit 2 Downloaded automatic patcher files but when ran no activated map is installed. Ran manual FastActivate and .dct error again.

Reverted to previous version OK. Appreciate help on this to update successfully.

Hold on...

Firstly, what navcore is installed on your device? The reason being that maps are navcore specific, not device specific.

Secondly, the only two 960 series UK & ROI maps that are able to be activated at the moment are 960.7056 & 960.7075 as Razorblatter has already indicated.
If you're trying to activate 960.7057, you're wasting your time as there's no meta for that map released yet.

Thanks. You've answered my problem. There is no meta for 7057 (Map TomTom Home indicated). Long time since I done update but remember meta being shown with map download link so you know you could download the map. I scrolled down both Popeyes and Trendriver posts and saw no meta's listed. Thought this now all intergrated. My mistake. Thanks for feedback much appreciated. I'll await meta release.

Do you need to have 9057 map?
Probably you will be happy with 9075 map.

But with 9.510 navcore you can also use 9076 map incl. Advanced Lane Guiding.

My Go700 has v 7.903 navcore. Can this be updated. If so how? I remember when trying to get maps in earlier times for this device that used all it's functions there was never a meta posted for it so I took an alternative map that had the meta but not the full functionality the Go700 had/has. I assume t HOME detects existing map as the "full function" one for this device and gives me the latest as the update. This being 960.7057 (navcore 7 map 057 ?). I take it that map 9057 would be for devices running v9 navcore. I can't find the 960 mapcore table anymore but thought I'd be limited on what I could upgrade to

You would get any official navcore updates through TTHome...other than that you would have to do it yourself using navcores readily available here on Navitotal.

If you're not comfortable with that, I'd recommend installing UK & ROI 960.7075 as that map is suitable for ALL devices and navcores (including yours) and has meta released that is included in the latest FastActivate

Yes, if you are not comfortable with the TomTom lingo and not willing to invest in that, it might be wiser to stick to your official navcore.

1. Yes. Copy a new navcore right over the top of your current navcore, overwriting any common files. Take a look at Downunder's 9.510 navcores in the Navcore sub-forum.
2. A 700 has very few features. Also, remember a map is navcore specific, not device specific. this was mentioned in post 4.
3. No, TT Home offers the current map for a STOCK unit. BTW, NEVER ASSUME!!!
4. No. 960.7057 = Edition 960 _Version 7057.
5. No. 960.7057 is compatible with ALL navcores.
6. It hasn't been posted yet.
7. You were very limited a couple of years back, but not any more.
