Just backup all files and folder to your PC,
delete all from the device except the ttgo.bif in the root,
install the Navcore (or use Home if you stick with the old 7.9) followed by the map,
use FastActivate Premium and press the first three buttons starting from the left.

If you want a higher NC check the tutorials and instructions provided.

OK ....... thanks guys to begin with, sorry I'm a day late replying pressures of work.
To downunder 35m I think I may have a look at the tutorials on upping the navcore, thanks for that, however at the time of posting I mentioned that It would not connect to the computer hence no getting at the files inside. I did finally manage to make it connect. I used the hard break button at the back to shut it down placed it on the cradle to connect to the computer then switched it on, I did have a copy of the ttsytem file that was altered so I just replaced it and hey presto up and running again.
To tendriver thanks for the reply the NC is an old 7.09 so I think I may have a look at the tutorials on that, do you have any recommendations for an old tomtom go910 ?

Finally ............

really struggled with this until it dawned on me that i had the completely wrong meta for the map. A big thanks for your imput, one last hurdle to complete.

Update: I cleared the tomtom of everything, installed the new navcore 9.430, patched it with FA premium, I then installed my latest map 'Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB_890_4222' with the correct meta, then patched the map with FA. Finally added the latest speedcam and fuel prices and patched with FA, everything now runs lovely............ final question, what do i have to do to connect to TT home or am i not allowed to ???

again with thanks to you and this forum, top drawer really.

To connect to Home:
Start Home, connect your TT and turn it on ;)
You don't have to patch the Home DLL unless you need the device simulation (Operate my GO), all downloads and updates will work without patching.
