hi, people, anybody know how to install tomtom 7 on a HTC hd mini because i get installation unsucessful everytime? ive tried a hard reset but still not working. IS it because of the HVGA screen?? ive tried both vga and qvga cabs..

Mine installed and worked ok. The only problem I have at the moment is that the Tomtom Home will not connect to the HD mini so the mapshare updates are not working.
This worked fine on my Diamond.
I think you need to fined a cab that is patched so that it will install on any device
The file I used is called "ttn7.917.9186_qvga_black.cab"
If I can work out how to attach I will upload it for you.

Can someone help please, I can get Europe 885_4010 maps working fine with ttn7.917.9186 on my HTC hd mini (wm6.5) but I cannot for the life of me get it to work with Europe_915_5110

Can someone point out the error in my ways?

You should select a map without any extra features for such outdated software or upgrade to IGO.

Interesting, both maps have the same features. I like, well accustomed to TT. I can see me using the hd mini for a few years to come.

Edit: Europe_915_5106 works.

I was sure a map with no features should work.
Although the chart states other maps should work too, TT no longer shows the version number fully in the map shop.
This makes it hard for a user to find the correct map.
Maybe the 5076 will work for you if you really need ASR and CSSPEECH?

Cheers, I'm a happy bunny. The old way of activation was almost at my limits with TT7 maps. I don't need anything fancy, OS maps would be nice. I also found the TTN7.918.9193_VGA_Black_NOBT.cab doesn't work on the HTC HD mini, cannot remember where I got it from, but it wont run. ttn7.917.9186_vga_black_NOBT.cab works good enough for me, I know its old but so am I.

There is no real difference beteen the 7.9 versions other than optimisations for different devices.
So if you are one of the happy one with a working version than stick to it.
Otherwise IGO offers more than the old TT versions.

I have the full suite of 7.917.9186 if anyone would like them.
