TomTom Go Live 740

Postby Pete23 » Sat Jul 20, 2013 3:16 pm

Hello all,

Is it possible to use newest maps with older Go Live 740 model? At least all European maps can't be used, because they are over 2GB, and 740 have internal 1gb memory.

I suppose that you can use a memory card. Buy a 4GB SDHC memory card or more and there is place enough for the
European maps.

Please run TomTom Current Configuration {13.11.2011} & post the results here.

I am familiar with a 730 & a 730T (traffiic), but not a 730 Live. None of my spec charts show a 730 Live, but they all show a 720, 730, 740 & 750 with a 2 GB internal memory & a card slot.

Regardless of what model it is, a unit with a 1GB internal & no slot is limited to a map smaller than 1GB.

That is a shame because i thought all 730 has a memory slot.

so all 9XX maps are working?

Europe_1GB_North_910_4952 [801MB] OR
Europe_1GB_North_910_4952 with Automatic Installer & Patcher
; Europe_1GB_North v910.4952
85 4E 25 9A E3 C6 A6 05 4C 15 1C 55 9C 09 91 74 Europe_1GB_North-788.meta

Is that the latest North version?

The first 3 digits of a map is the Edition, ie 910.4952. If you can't find a map edition higher than 910, it is a pretty safe bet, that you have the latest edition.

9.510 is the current navcore for a 740. Download & unzip Europe_1GB_North_910_4952. Remove the old map folder. Copy in the new map folder. Follow the instructions in FastActivate 22.07.2013 to patch the new map & navcore.

Does the meta.txt needed to be in the same folder than the map? And linked somehow to the .meta file?

Put FastActivate.exe in the root of the device, & run it from there. FastActivate 22.07.2013 is current, so you don't have to do anything with any meta files.
