TomTom 1 "no maps"

I am trying to update this device but am getting "no maps" after updating. I load the new map,use FastActivate_07.08.2012_Premium_edition_v1.8.9.0 and then restart the device. On starting it comes up with no maps. Any solution? Trying to install NZ885-4003.

You did not mention if you patched the Navcore nor if you activated the map.
Apart from that the 885 maps are all complete with meta codes, so the error is on your end ;)

Too bad you didn't check the compatibility chart in post 1 of the 885 map thread. You would have seen that a 885.4003 map requires navcore 8.2XX or higher. You have navcore 8.014.

I have been on TomTom home and it seems I am on the latest navcore for this particular unit as it will not update.

It makes no difference what navcore you have, current official or a non-offical version, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS check it for compatibility with the map that you are interested in.
You have the latest OFFICIAL navcore for your device. Read the threads, & you will see that very few members are running the latest OFFICIAL navcore for their units, especially the older models like yours.

Bottom line: You have 2 options,

1. Stick with your current navcore & use 885.4004.
2. Load a navcore 8.2XX or higher & keep 885.4003

Congrats!! What set-up did you end up installing?

The latest navcore that I could find is NC 9.061. The only missing item would be vocaliser TTS

There are newer ones than 9.061, but since you have 9.061 running, it's not worth going any higher. You wouldn't be able to tell any diference.

Voc. voices are available in the voices section. Be advised, some of the links are bad.
