1. My LoquendoTTS/EnglishGb folder contains a folder called "Kate" and a number of files containing "6.9".

Why does your LoquendoTTS have /EnglishGb on it?
Here is a snapshot of my opened Loq folder

Hi Tendriver,

The folder is called "LoquendoTTS".
"LoquendoTTS/EnglishGb" refers to the path of the "Kate" folder.
My Loquendo folder contains 4 sub-folders :- bin, EnglishGb, EnglishTE and lib.

Regards,
Steve.

I'm curious. Remove the LoquendoTTS folder from your unit. Copy in the LoquendoTTS folder from your backup. Disconnect & reboot.

I've already tried that. Same result.

My backup Loquendo folder (Kate voice only) is 332MB in size. I downloaded it from "disneyworld" last year.
I've downloaded the Kate .cab file & Loquendo folder from this site. They take up significantly less space.
The structure of my backup folder is different to the structure of downloaded data.
For example, there isn't an EnglishGb folder in the download from here.

Nakamoniel mentioned :-

1. De-selecting and re-selecting my map. The only thing similar to that on my device is "switch your map". Is that the same? I have one map.
2. Disable read international language option. The only thing similar to that on my device is activate / de-activate read aloud foreign street names. Is that the same?

Hmmm....I noticed that my reference to "disneyworld" changed to "disneyworld" when posting this message. I like it !!!

OK, thanks.

I tried 6.5 and 7. No joy.
Just one question. Do you have to extract the config folder from Switchfiles.zip to the root of your device or do you just leave Switchfiles.zip as it is in the root?

Yes thats what i Meant, I am pretty sure once u go in that switch maps sectoin, the only MAP that would be there would be USA. So simply touch it and it would deselect. You exit. Repeat the same but this time it will SELECT and then u exit. Restart your GPS and it should start reading STREET NAMES instead of saying "Turn left on Language N" . At least that's what i did and it fixed it. Again I am using USA_CANADA map and for TTS i am using SAMANTHA. and first time i tried it was saying street names as N language, I selected and deselected READ FOREIGN LANGUAGE option, and i DESELECTED AND THEN SELECTED the only 1 map i was using thru switch maps option and it fixed the problem for me.

Wolfman wrote:Hi Nakamoniel,

I've never seen a de-selection option.
I went into "Switch Maps" and selected the only map there.
Is that what you meant?

Thanks,
Steve.

Thanks to both of you for your advice.

Here's what I did :-

1. Unzipped the switchfile.zip folder on the device & copied the Config folder to the root.
2. Cleared the contents of the LoquendoTTS folder on the device.
3. Extracted the files from Kate.6.9.1.cab, downloaded from http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?924-VOICES-LoquendoTTS-v6.5-(X20). The cab file only contained files.
4. Copied the data into the LoquendoTTS folder on the device.
5. Extracted the files from LoquendoTTS.rar, downloaded from the same page as above. It contained 2 folders (bin and EnglishTE) and files.
6. Overwrote the LoquendoTTS folder on the device with the extracted data.

Selecting the only map in "Switch Maps" re-selects the same map. It does not de-select it.
I can't find the READ FOREIGN LANGUAGE option.

More importantly, only one voice is available for selection (Jane, English UK).

I've re-booted. The only visible difference is that the icons are different.
e.g. the Change Preference icon is still a spanner but now has a light blue box behind it.

Thanks,
Steve.

1. OK
2. Not necessary, but OK
3. OK
4. OK
5. OK
6. OK
7. I have never heard of this. Tested it with same results as you. Go to: Main Menu, Change preferences, Voices, Voice preferences. Check the items you want.
8. Main Menu, Change preferences, Change language. Select the language you want.
9. In your new Config folder there are 4 .txt files. I don't use the cycle.txt. For now remove all but the model.txt. Open this file with notepad. Type x50. Save it & reboot.
