Tomtom One 3rd Edition 1 GB Canada USA Map?

Postby jigsaw-123 » Sun Nov 06, 2011 10:18 pm

Hello All,

Very new to this forum as well as to such Gps update altogether.

I have this old Tomtom One 3rd Edition 1GB GPS. I downloaded a map from another torrent site but ended up getting the message saying "This Map can not be used on this device".

I tried to find a suitable map here but the one I found was 1.47 GB size so knew that would not work for my 1 GB GPS either.
Can you please help me point to a place on this forum where I can find latest and compatible map for Canada and USA on this GPS?

Thanks a lot for your help.

1. This message is telling you that your map and/or navcore have not been patched.

2. All New Maps 875.XXXX might be a good place to look. All of the 875 USA_and_Canada maps are 926MB or smaller

Help with Map Load

Postby jigsaw-123 » Fri Nov 11, 2011 1:06 am

:helpsos:I need some help with loading new maps on my GPS, Please!

As advised I downloaded 875_3675 and then did unrar using win rar 3.90 (as advised).
I ende up with a map folder called USA Canada, I started by deleting my existing USA Canada map folder from GPS and copying new folder, then run Fastactivate from the root of GPS.
I get the error when I click on ttsystem buton; the error reads "Can't find" and then "Already patched?"

Then I tried deleting and copying same name files from GPS map folder and then I ran fastactivate.exe from the root of GPS but same result. GPS when unplugged from computer will read "Can not use this map on this device"

Then I downloaded Automatic Installer and Patcher files; First two downloads complete about 200MB each but third and fourth files will not download full files, tried several times but at most it would download size of files about 100MB while file says it is 200MB. I tired to run just to check but soon as I get to 3rd rar after some time it will give me CRC error saying bad download, try again.

I must be doing something wrong, may be something very stupid but I am new to all this and need your help. Thanks a lot for looking in to my problem.

1. OK
2. Very good. You can confirm that the map has been patched by looking for a .meta.dct file in the map folder.
3. Your current navcore version is ?
4. Map files are not interchangeable.
5. I repeat from post 2, "This message is telling you that your map and/or navcore have not been patched".
6. Stick with your first 3675 download.

I am glad to see your fast response...

I don't see .meta.dct file before or after I run fast activate.exe????

I connected to tomtom home and ensured my GPS is upto speed but nothin yet, same result when I run fastactivate.exe... "Can't find" and "already patched?"

1. If your currently loaded map is not the normal USA&C 875.3675, remove the map folder & copy in 3675. Put a copy of your device's ttgo.bif & FastActivate in the new map folder, then run the map patcher. Confirm you now have a .meta.dct file.
2. Download this prepatched 8010 ttsystem file. [Please Register or Login to download file]
Unzip & copy the file into your unit overwriting the current ttsystem file. Disconnect & reboot.

Hi Tendriver,

Don't know what am I doing wrong but it's just not working. I tried fresh by removing old map folder and copying new 3675 Map folder in GPS, then I added ttgo.bif and Fastactivate in the map folder, I then ran fast activate from the root of GPS folder...same error!

2. I downloaded the file but when I unrar it is asking me for password, navitotal is not working?

Point 1 and 2 which you listed above are they alternative procedure or two step process to fix this problem?

Thanks Ten!

1. "It's just not working" doesn't help me. I need to know if there is a .meta.dct file in the map folder.
2. My apologies. Use this pre-patched 8010 ttsystem file. [Please Register or Login to download file]
3. No it is a 2 step process. Out with the old map. in with the new. Patch the map & navcore. Done.

1. What I meant is that I don't have .meta.dct file after running fastactivate. Atleast this time it won't give me message saying "Can't find" and "Already patched?"
What I did was I deleted everything from my GPS then took all files except map folder from my backup copied it to GPS and then took 875_3675 folder to GPS. I would not find fastactivate.exe in GPS so then I copied it from 865_3621 maps I had from earlier attempt. I took ttgo.BIF and fastactivate.exe copied them to map folder (875_3675) and also copied fastactivate.exe to root of GPS. I then ran fastactivate.exe from the root.

2.I managed to download and unrar 8010 ttsystem and copied it to the root of GPS, I do have another ttsystem.old file in the root.

Hope this is enough details for you to help figure out where is the problem. Do you think the map folder might be missing something?

1. I have no idea why you felt it was necessary to delete everything from your unit. It was totally unneeded. You copied the ttgo.bif file & fastactivate into the map folder as instructed, but why did you put a copy in the root & run that copy rather than the one in the map folder???

2. You can delete the ttsystem.old file.

Go here: TomTom Current Config for newbies {29.09.2011} Read the instructions. Download and run this app. Post the results here.

What version of Fastactivate are you using?

Hi tendriver,

1.I thought I would try with clean slate, I had been moving Old/New map back and forth several time trying to get this new map going. I tried running fastactivate.exe from bothmap folder and then from the root ( I thought I had read something along this line on this site in one of the thred?) but both times I ended up with same result... No .meta.dct file in map folder.
Didn't mean to devite from your instruction.

2. I read the threat but couldn't find any downloads; I get following device info. when I open ttgo.bif file in notepad. I hope this is what you are looking for...

[TomTomGo]
DeviceName=TomTom ONE
DeviceVersionHW=ONE (v7)
DeviceSerialNumber=
DeviceUniqueID=
RamDiskVersion=20080529
BootLoaderVersion=55001
LinuxVersion=190943
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8010
ApplicationVersion=9369
UserLanguage=English US

As for Fastactivate, I am usinng 1.8 premium edition

Thanks for your time with this, hope we can find where am I doing this wrong.

1. We try to have a game plan to solve a problem. When a member tries stuff on their own, it gets us off track, then we waste time getting all sorted again.
2. The TomTom Current Config for newbies {29.09.2011} app. & FastActivate 23.10.2011 {1.8.7.4} Premium are attached.
Please run the Config app & post the results.

Hi Tendriver,

Thanks for both files. I think the fastactivate file you attached did the trick. I downloaded this one, and thought I would try one more time before I run TTcurrnet config and to my surprise fastactivate worked,

Below is the result after running ttcurrentconfig file. It seems to be fully up to date. Even when I open TT Home it says that "your map is up to date". Thanks a lot for your help.

TTGO.BIF:
DeviceName=TomTom ONE
DeviceVersionHW=ONE (v7)
BootLoaderVersion=55001
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8010
ApplicationVersion=9369
CurrentMap=USA_and_Canada_875_3675
CurrentMapVersion=875.3675
TTGO.BAK:
Not Found...
TTGO.ORI:
Not Found...
TTNAVIGATOR.BIF:
Not Found...

Thanks again for being there when needed.
