I have just joined so please forgive any forum etiquette mishaps.

I have a very old TomTom ONE 3rd Edition (1 GB). The unit works fine but the maps are really old and because of that I don't use it. I thought I would update the map to make it more useful.

I would be grateful for some guidance on the best navcore/map version to put on. I just require a Europe map or Benelux.

I have backed up all files on the device but I have never made any additions (voices etc.) so I have no special requirements.

Updating is easy:
1) Download Fastactivate
2) Download map compatibele with your Navcore version AND your available storage (look for the compatibilitymatrix). Your NavCore version is 8.010
3) Copy map to your device
4) Patch NavCore with Fastactivate
5) Patch maps with Fastactivate
6) done!

Ok, well there are couple of ways to tackle this one...the simple way and then the more advanced, so we'll do the simple one for now:

Download Benelux 1005_8819 and FastActivate

Then as per tommieuser's instructions above:

Extract the new map and FastActivate to your device > run FastActivate.exe on your device and select options 2 & 3 (waiting for successful messages each time)
Reboot & test...done

P.S: Forget about the complete Europe map as it's too big to fit on a 1GB device
