TomTom One v2 Complete New Install Help

Postby terryt8 » Mon Sep 16, 2013 4:48 pm

After losing all my data(post using TomTom Home) and like a fool not
having done a seperate backup I have had to re format my SD card
and start a new install.
I have put navcor 7.903.9183 on my card then I have now uploaded with
the auto install map 915.5106.

Tomtom starts but then goes onto "no maps found page" and then
back to tomtom with red cross page.

I just run the findmy config software but it only produced this on one
text file:

GetMy-CFG for Tomtom (v2.53)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Copy "GetMy-CFG.exe" in the root of your Tomtom and run it.
GetMy-CFG show's the running config of your Tomtom.
The output is on screen and in a file named "My-ConFig.txt"
Output example:
GetMy-CFG v2.53
===============
DeviceID=
DeviceVersionHW=
DeviceSerialNumber=
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=
TTSystem .... bytes, modified ....
PNDNavigator .... bytes, modified ....
BootLoaderVersion=
RDS/TMC 'mctx.dat' size .... bytes
CurrentMap=
CurrentMapVersion=
HelpFileVersion=
NederlandPostal version=
GreatBritainPostal version=
SingaporePostal version=
DSA emulation mode=
SE 'setconfig.txt'=
model:
changedtext:
usesetting
ttsoff
bton
delgns
noqfixdel
# - - - - - End - - - - - #
and then this on a second text file
GetMy-CFG v2.53
===============
DeviceID= deleted for security
DeviceVersionHW=ONE (v3)
DeviceSerialNumber= deleted for security
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=7903
TTSystem 5794924 bytes, modified 16/09/2013 17:24
BootLoaderVersion=48100
RDS/TMC 'mctx.dat' size 44 bytes
# - - - - - End - - - - - #
I have been through the tuturials and forum posts over the last day or so
but would surely thank you for any help or advice.
Thanks
Your 7.903 navcore is not patched. Run FastActivate Latest Update option 3 to patch it. Also run option 2 to ensure that your map is patched.
Many thanks indeed that seems to be working other than
it says there are no voices available.
How would I go about adding these.
I did add the voices folder, which was one of the few folders copied to
my comuter by Tomtom Home before it crashed and lost all other data.
Appeciate the help you have given.
I decided to do another clean install to update the navcore
so that I could get a better map with voices etc.
Formatted the card and then installed navcore 8.562.
This seemed to install OK and seems to be working in
my TomTom One.
I then installed map 895.4437.
This map seems compatible to the navcore, according to the
chart, and there is no mention of no meta file being available.
However after running Fast Activate to first patch navcore, this
went OK, there was a .dct error when I ran it for the map.
TomTom of course shows "no maps found".
Is there anyway to insert a .dct file.
Thanks for any help.
I am downloading the map again just to make sure.
On the site there appears to be two download files so
perhaps that could be part of the problem.
Will try and see.
Why do you use such an old map and where do you find a working download for that?
If you simply follow the instructions within the 915 map thread you won't have any problems.
By the way: I provided several V9 Navcores with an easy to use installer...
Hi
Got all the downloads off this site.
I have the TomTom One v2 and was not sure what was the
latest navcore and map I could use.
Will look at what you suggest.
If you have any suggestions as to the navcore and map for
UK most suitable would be very grateful.
I have the 3.5 screen so I read some 9 navcores were not suitable.
Many Thanks
Terry
You did not read here and rely on false informations provided by someone with no knowledge.
Or you only read post from 2 years ago ;)
All current V9 Navcores can be used on old 32mb devices - that is why I provide the installers.
I have now used the auto nav installer for navcore 9
plus the 915.5074 map with auto installer.
All now seems to be working OK.
Many thanks for all your help and the help
of this forum.
