Device
DeviceName=TomTom ONE
DeviceVersionHW=ONE (v6)
LinuxVersion=190943
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8010
ApplicationVersion=9369
BootLoaderVersion=55001
Procedure
1 Delete all files from device-root.
2 Install application with Tomtom Home.
3 Update application with Tomtom Home.
4 Copy mapfolder to device-root.
5 Apply patch (with Alberts Easy Activator or Fast Activator)
This is my standard routine and never before i experienced any trouble.
Problem
The map Central Europe 1 GB (860.3126) give problems.
It seems the device hangs/freezes while booting.
A hard reset 'unfreezes' the device but it should be connected to computer to avoid a reboot which freezes the device again.
This freezing while booting does not appear when another map is copied, like Western Europe 1GB 860.3126 or US 860.3126.
This freezing appears when i apply a patch with Alberts Easy Activator or Fast Activator.
Both way's do NOT generate a errormessage.
Question
Could the problem be caused by the map only?
Is there a method to create errorlogs?
How to troubleshoot when things went wrong?
All help is welcome.

Procedure: FFR info only 1. We don't recommend deleting old navcores, instead copy the new over the old, overwriring any common files.
2. & 3. A waste of your time. Download a pre-patched navcore from Navitotal.
4. OK
5. OK
Problem You know it is not the navcore, if other maps run OK on it.
Confirm you have a .meta.dct file in the map folder after patching it.
If no help, I suggest trying another keygen. They can all be found here.
OthersIf no help, I would re-download the map, to eliminate a possible bad download the first time.

Thank you for your comment, Tendriver.
The .meta.dct is in the map folder after patching it.
When i understand you well you think the freezing could possibly be caused just by the map?
I will take a look at the pre-patched maps.

I don't know what is causing the freeze. We try the rule out the simple errors & fixes first.
My apologies. I made a typo error. It should read pre-patched navcore, not map. A map can't be prepatched.

Anyway, i gonna read about the pre-patched navcores and maps with Automatic Installer & Patcher.
I will follow your advice about the procedure to renew a map on a device.
Also i will follow your advice to download te map again and try again.
However, before a new try i prefer to wait a while before downloading the file again.
Thanks

Have you tried deleting the 'mapsettings.cfg' file from the root of the offending map 'Central Europe 1 GB (860.3126)'?
Just a thought.

I suppose the Navcore is working correctly and patched.
If the map is downloaded correctly and Winrar gave no errors that maybe "fooling" the device with Home will help.
There are certain files on your device that defines which settings you have and what map you use etc.
Do a clean install of the map, activate it and start Home (patched Home DLL).
Use "Operate my device" to select the new map and set a home location.
Exit the simulation after closing Home disconnect the device and restart it.
Now you TT should start the normal way.

Thanks Downunder and Hamish for your comment.
@Hamish
No, i didn't tried it.
Is the file generated again while booting?
At the end it seems we are troubleshooting by trial and error.
Is it possible to run the device in debugmode or something like that?
Or a way the device dumps (error)logs in a folder?
I've got a little knowledge of Linux so tips and trucs with Linux are welcome.

I've tried the files which tendriver pointed to and it appears to me there is a failure in the map.
The device don't freezes but can't find a map.
This different behavior might be due the different navcore.
I think it's reasonable to assume this failure in the map is also in the plain map without automatic installer and patcher.
The file "cline.dat" is corrupt or missing.
For me this case is closed, i will try again after a few weeks.
Everybody thanks for the help.

password should be :
navitotal

I think this hasn't something to do with the password.
The password is asked before extracting and as you can see in the picture the errornotification is while the third archive is extracting.
Anyway, i entered the password 'navitotal' at the start of the extractingproces, otherwise nothing is going to be extracted.

Yes, the mapsettings.cfg file is re-created. But it will be empty - Favorites, Recent destinations, possibly Home... will not be there - which is why I keep my (personal) favourites in a POI I call 'Favourites'. This, latter idea, simplifies moving my personal favourites to a new map.

I see.
I've learned a lot due this topic.
For the problem as described in the startpost i am convinced it's caused by an error in the map.
The file 'cline.dat' is a neccesary file and if it's missing the device can't run without problems.
I think in this particular case the mapsettings.cfg file doesn't affected the bootingproces.
For now i have decided to install another map for a few weeks or months.
Early next year i will retry with this map agian or a newer version, 865.xxxx

The cline.dat file is in part 1, but all parts are required to unzip it.
