TomTom One (v2) GPS signal

TomTom One (v2) GPS signal

Postby robjanssen » Sun Dec 08, 2019 8:34 am

I have a problem with a TomTom One (v2)
Sometimes it finds the GPS signal within a minute.
And sometimes it takes more than 10 minutes to find a GPS signal.
How is this possible?

I'm using NC9.510_DSA_For 32Mb_ram
And I used QuickGPSFix with TTActivator v1.7

You've previously tried NC 9.541 with Holyhead's help but now you've obviously gone back to NC 9.510

So depending on whether you have the Global Locate or the SiRFStarIII chipset you might be interested to read the following:

I have the SiRFStarIII chipset.
But can I install the Flash_FW_3.2.5 or Flash_FW_3.2.6 on a One v2?
It currently has GPS v1.20

If you bothered to read it....it says very clearly that is your choice and you can change back:

Charlie62 wrote:Breaking news!

Our friend jungblume2005 found a firmware even more recent than version 3.2.5: he found a version 3.6.0. Several members of the forum tested it, and we came to the following conclusion: this version generally allows to find 1-2 satellites more than version 3.2.5, but the synchronization time after a cold start is a little longer. So it's a personal choice: if you want your GPS to always synchronize as quickly as possible, choose version 3.2.5, if you prefer to wait maybe a little longer, but get the most satellites, take version 3.6.0. You can download it below (2.84 MB).

N. B. The update procedure is exactly the same, regardless of the firmware version used, and it is possible to return from one version to another without any problem: at each new flashing, the version of the firmware used replaces the one that was currently in the GPS. This allows you to do your own comparative tests and choose the version you prefer.

Question was more about if it doesn't break a One v2, because it's an old one.
And if I want to go back to GPS v1.20. Where can I find that?

GPS v1.20 is the driver version for the GPS receiver...not the SiRFStarIII chipset firmware version

I installed Flash_FW_3.2.6.
Now it finds more satelites and also quicker.
Thank for the help.
