TomTom One - Help Please!

Postby jamesgreco » Wed May 11, 2016 9:53 am

Hi all,

I have a TomTom One (1GB).

I'm usually pretty good with these things but I must be doing something wrong...

I've backed up my device & then I've installed the 9.510 navcore, so far so good...

The problem comes when I'm trying to install a map, I'm going to west coast of America soon and would like to use the device whilst I'm away, so I though I would put a new map on the device. I've tried two maps so far, but both of them are too large to fit on my device. I've tried United States 965.7280 & Western US and Canada 965.7284, but neither will fit.

Like I said my TomTom One is a 1GB unit with no facility for expansion. With the Navcore installed, this leaves me with 806MB's of space to install a map...

Any advice you can give would be greatly received.

Many thanks in advance!

Take the Western US and Canada 965.7283 approx 770MB.

The United States 965.7280 is approx 850MB
So if you install the native navcore (8.010) via Home it must be possible to use that map.

In addition to holyhead: You have nothing to gain by the 9.510 navcore because you are using maps which do not have extra functionality like ALG or ASR. (You would if you were only using a small map like Benelux).
The 9.510 navcore is about five times as big as the official navcore. You need all storage capacity you can get.

Succes.

Hi all,

I'm still not there yet :(

I have removed the western eurpoe 1gb map from my tomtom one.

Then I downloaded and copied Western US and Canada 965.7283 to my device.

I have used fast activate to update meta codes, patch map and patch navcore, all apparently worked fine, but when I now try to use the device to comes up with the message 'No maps found!'?

Can anyone help me with this please?

These are the details from my device, I hope it helps:

ttgo.bif:
DeviceName=TomTom ONE
DeviceVersionHW=ONE (v8)
DeviceSerialNumber=PExxxxxxxxxx
BootLoaderVersion=10100
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8041
ApplicationVersion=9645
CurrentMap=
CurrentMapVersion=0.0

Map(s):
e:\Western_US_and_Canada_965_7283\

Storage:
Size 975MB, Free 57MB

Many thanks in advance!

If you go back and look at the compatibility chart, you'll see that Western US and Canada 965.7283 is not compatible with your navcore.

Holyhead is correct, you need Western_US_and_Canada_965_7280
